Creighton cruises past IUPUI 90-65

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) Isaiah Zierden scored 17 points with five 3-pointers and Creighton shot 68 percent in the second half to cruise past IUPUI 90-65 on Saturday to win their second straight.

Khyri Thomas scored 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting, Toby Hegner had 12 with four 3s, and Zach Hanson added 11. Maurice Watson Jr. had 10 assists.

The Blue Jays (7-3) made 12 of 21 3-pointers (57 percent) and outscored the Jaguars on fast breaks 16-4.

Up 40-29 at halftime, Creighton used a 17-2 run to pull to a 71-47 lead on a 3-pointer by James Milliken with 9:21 to play. Milliken extended Creighton's lead to 26 with a layup with 4:55 left and the Blue Jays stayed in control.

Khyri Thomas opened the game with a layup and Creighton never trailed.

Darell Combs scored 19 for IUPUI (3-9) and Matt O'Leary added 14.
