SAN DIEGO (AP) Kyle Collinsworth had 25 points and 12 rebounds and Nick Emery made three late free throws to help BYU escape San Diego 69-67 on Thursday night.

Chase Fischer added 14 points and Emery 12 for the Cougars (20-8, 11-4 West Coast Conference), who posted their 11th consecutive 20-win season despite shooting only 35 percent.

The Cougars had an eight-point lead before the Toreros (8-18, 3-12) cut it to 66-64 with 48 seconds left. BYU missed a 3-pointer but retained possession on a held-ball. Emery followed with two free throws. USD's Vasa Pusica hit a 3-pointer with seven seconds remaining but Emery added a final free throw, missed a second, and USD's desperation heave wasn't close.
