Butler's Kelan Martin uses DePaul defender as a ladder

Published Jan. 6, 2016 2:52 p.m. ET

Butler won its first Big East game on Tuesday night, knocking off DePaul, 77-72, on the road.

The play of the game came courtesy of one of the league's most improved players, Kelan Martin. With 11 minutes remaining in regulation, Roosevelt Jones dished to the trailing Martin, who used DePaul guard Darrick Wood as a ladder on his way to a two-handed dunk, while also drawing the foul. Check out the play in the video below, beginning at the 0:50 mark.

Martin would complete the old-fashioned 3-point play to cut the Blue Demons' lead to 50-49. The Bulldogs would take hold of the lead for good two minutes later.

The 6-foot-6 Martin, who is averaging 14.3 points off the bench, scored all 12 of Butler's bench points against DePaul.
