Impact Cheberko has made 52 Croatian first division appearances with Osijek since joining the club in February 2021, with one assist from central defense in the competition. The 25-year-old now moves to MLS where he will provide Columbus with some much-needed depth at center-back as Milos Degenek (Achilles), Josh Williams (ankle) and Gustavo Vallecilla (hamstring) have all spent significant time on the sidelines with injuries this season. But Cheberko won't be able to feature until July at the earliest, as he'll have to sort out his immigration status in addition to waiting for the league's transfer window to open.
