Misses season finale
Soteldo (undisclosed) was not in Toronto's match day squad in last weekend's defeat against D.C. United.
Impact
Soteldo missed the last four games of the season with an undisclosed injury -- after also missing four games in June with a thigh injury -- and finished with three goals and six assists in 24 MLS appearances (19 starts). The 24-year-old will hope to return healthy in 2022 and get back to his levels from last year when he was directly involved in 14 goals for Toronto.

Comes off injured against Miami
Soteldo was subbed out of Wednesday's defeat against Inter Miami in the 39th minute after suffering an injury. He took a shot on target in the match before being taken off.
Impact
Toronto is already dealing with a spate of injuries up front with Soteldo joining Ifunanyachi Achara (lower body) and Ayo Akinola (knee) on the sidelines. Toronto plays Montreal on Saturday but it is unclear whether Soteldo will be fit enough to play. Jonathan Osorio could fill in for him in attacking midfield if necessary

Delivers nine crosses in loss
Soteldo took one shot off target, created three chances, delivered nine crosses, made one interception and drew three fouls in Saturday's 2-0 loss versus Atlanta United FC.
Impact
Soteldo was not able to make it on the scoresheet Saturday but he still managed to rack up offensive stats due to his role on set pieces. The midfielder has now registered one goal and two assists in his last three appearances, along with producing six shots, seven chances created and delivered 24 crosses in the same time span.

Called up to national team
Soteldo's participation with the Venezuela National Team this week might make him unavailable for Toronto FC in MLS action this weekend.
Impact
The quick turnaround between Thursday's World Cup qualifier against Chile and Saturday's MLS clash against Atlanta means that Soteldo might not be fit and ready to play for Toronto from the start in the match. Dom Dwyer could fill in for him at forward if necessary.

Scores goal against Chicago
Soteldo scored a goal and recorded an assist in Sunday's 3-1 victory against the Fire. He also made an interception, and he took three shots (two on target) overall in the match.
Impact
Soteldo set up Omar Gonzalez's game-winning goal on Sunday, and then he sealed the result with a score of his own to redeem himself after missing a penalty early on in the game. He now has three assists in his last four MLS appearances and he will be looking for more after he returns from the international break and faces Atlanta United, which have conceded 33 times in 28 matches this season.

Records assist as striker
Soteldo recorded one assist during a 3-2 win Wednesday versus FC Cincinnati.
Impact
The Toronto Football Club has been testing different tactics since Jozy Altidore underwent foot surgery a month ago. Despite having Dom Dwyer and Patrick Mullins, Soteldo seems to be its brief primary striker. The 24-year-old recorded three assists since Altidore's injury.

Takes four shots in draw
Soteldo took four shots (one on target) and created one chance in Saturday's 0-0 draw between Toronto and Colorado.
Impact
Soteldo returned to the starting lineup after assisting off the bench in the last contest and he has two assists over his last six appearances, but he has also provided 12 shots, 25 crosses and 13 corners in that span, so there's no question he's been a very active creative threat for Toronto.

Records assist off bench
Soteldo recorded one assist across 26 minutes during a 2-1 win Saturday versus Nashville.
Impact
Soteldo has four league assists this year. Despite not starting three times across the Toronto team's last six games, he logged half of his assist tally during that span and remains its primary left attacking midfielder. Soteldo will try to record a start Saturday at Colorado.

Four shots in loss
Soteldo shot four times (once on goal) during Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to Miami.
Impact
Soteldo led the way in shots, but failed to do much to get on the score sheet. It was a rough match where neither team looked particularly good but Soteldo couldn't capitalize. Next up is a Saturday clash with high-flying Nashville, a horrible spot for Soteldo.

Records assist in loss
Soteldo took a shot on target and assisted a goal in Friday's 3-1 defeat against CF Montreal.
Impact
Soteldo grabbed his third assist of the season on Friday, but it wasn't enough to drag his side to a result against Montreal after being a man down for 85 minutes. He should have more space and an easier time after the international break against Cincinnati, which have conceded 37 goals in 20 matches this season.

Logs eight crosses
Soteldo recorded eight crosses (two accurate), three chances created and one corner during a 3-1 loss Sunday against Inter Miami.
Impact
Soteldo crossed the ball more times than any three of his teammates combined. He is averaging 8.8 crosses across August and has one remaining game this month, scheduled for Friday at Montreal.

Gets rested versus Atlanta
Soteldo played 37 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's 1-0 loss to Atlanta United.
Impact
Soteldo had a terrific stint on the pitch mounting three chances created, two crosses (both accurate) and three dribbles for the brief time on. He's been now on a four-match dry spell but has been very active still with five shots, eight chances created and 28 crosses over the same period and will surely return to the starting XI for the next affair.

ROTOWIRE
Records secondary assist Saturday
Soteldo sent in 11 crosses (none accurate) and recorded a secondary assist in Saturday's 2-1 loss against New England.
Impact
Soteldo had the ball on the left side of the box and took on a couple of defenders before he slid the ball through to Alejandro Pozuelo who then found Jonathan Osorio right in front of the net in the 79th minute. Soteldo was on three corners and some set pieces, but none of his 11 crosses resulted in any chances. He finished with one chance created, two shots (one on goal), two interceptions and two fouls drawn. Soteldo has two goals and five assists (three secondary) through 13 appearances this season. Toronto will be on the road Wednesday against Atlanta.
