Suffers meniscus tear Elgezabal is set to miss several weeks after suffering a tear of the lateral meniscus of his right knee, the club announced.
Impact Elgezabal suffered a tear of the lateral meniscus of his right knee this week and will be sidelined for several weeks to recover. This type of injury likely needs six to eigth weeks to recover, which means coach Julian Calero will have to find solutions for his starting XI, with Alan Matturro as a likely option to replace him in the lineup.

Doubtful to face Osasuna Elgezabal is doubtful for Monday's match against Osasuna due to a muscular injury, Eric Martin of Las Provincias reports.
Impact Elgezabal left the previous match against Athletic Club due to a muscular problem and didn't feature against Cieza in the Copa del Rey. He's yet to train normally this week, so it remains to be seen if he'll be available for Monday. That's a huge blow for Levante since they're already missing Matias Moreno and Adrian de la Fuente due to muscular problems.

Own goal leads to loss Elgezabal had an own goal, one tackle (zero won) and six clearances in Saturday's 3-2 loss to Barcelona.
Impact Elgezabal was unfortunately the reason for Levante's loss Saturday, as the defender would score an own goal in extra time to give Barcelona the win. This would come after he bagged a tackle and six clearances, a solid contribution before the own goal. He should maintain a starting role moving forward, with a start in both games to open the season.
