Matteo Palma - Will miss a few weeks
Palma has been diagnosed with a right adductor longus strain and will be sidelined for up to a month, Udinese announced.
Impact
Palma will have to miss a few games after leaving the opener at halftime. Enzo Ebosse and Nicolo Bertola will pick up the slack in the next match, while Christian Kabasele will return from suspension in two rounds.

ROTOWIRE
Oumar Solet - Posts four clearances in Como match
Solet created one scoring chance and had one interception, four clearances and two blocks in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Como.
Impact
Solet anchored the defense as he was the most experienced man at the position, which reduced his ability to push forward, as he instead does routinely in other configurations. He was okay in the back and picked up a decent amount of stats, but Udinese conceded once.

ROTOWIRE
James Abankwah - Wins two tackles in Como contest
Abankwah registered two tackles (two won), two blocks and three clearances in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Como.
Impact
Abankwah opened the campaign ahead of Nicolo Bertola and Branimir Mlacic after playing a lot while on loan at Watford last season and heled up nicely for the most part, even though his side couldn't completely contain a high-powered offense. He'll have to keep it up to retain the starting job, and Udinese might add further defenders down the stretch.

ROTOWIRE
Mergim Vojvoda - Strong showing against Como
Vojvoda created two scoring chances and had two shots (zero on goal), three crosses (one accurate) and four tackles (zero won) in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Como.
Impact
Vojvoda had a remarkable all-around display in his debut with Udinese, as his teammates leaned heavily on him on offense. He could have had a bigger day, as he wasted one big chance from the middle of the box. He's set for a consistent role after having to fight for minutes during his time at Como.

ROTOWIRE
Nicolo Zaniolo - Logs three attempts in Como clash
Zaniolo created two scoring chances and registered three shots (zero on goal), two crosses (one accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Como.
Impact
Zaniolo was dynamic as usual in the final third, co-pacing his team in attempts alongside Idrissa Gueye, but his teammates didn't fully take advantage of a pair of his brilliant feeds. He seemed to be simply cramping up while leaving the game in the 89th minute. After resolving a contract-related saga with Udinese, he'll look to build on last season's solid campaign, during which he totaled five goals, six assists, 72 shots (22 on target) and 51 key passes in 32 showings.

ROTOWIRE
Jurgen Ekkelenkamp - Picks up assist in Como contest
Ekkelenkamp assisted once to go with two shots (zero on goal), four tackles (three won) and one chance created in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Como.
Impact
Ekkelenkamp mostly contributed defensively, adding three interceptions, mainly because of the challenging opponent, but he was instrumental in his team's lone goal, hitting Hassane Kamara in stride with a clever pass in space, creating a one-on-one with the goalie. He registered five goals and three assists in the past campaign and could take on more creative duties following the departure of Arthur Atta.

ROTOWIRE
Hassane Kamara - Scores versus Como
Kamara scored one goal to go with three shots (two on goal), three tackles (two won) and three crosses (zero accurate) in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Como.
Impact
Kamara was energetic on both ends and broke the deadlock with a lovely dink over the goalie after escaping behind the defense on a timely through ball. He didn't score last season and has done so just three times entering his fourth season in Serie A. His main competitor, Jordan Zemura, has left the team, and he's way ahead of his deputy, Juan Arizala.

ROTOWIRE
Maduka Okoye - Allows one goal in Como game
Okoye registered five saves and conceded one goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Como.
Impact
Okoye pulled off some difficult saves throughout the contest, but wasn't perfect on Como's goal, as his rejection of a header was too central, and Tasos Douvikas pounced on it. He kept ten clean sheets in 30 matches in 2025/2026, making 81 saves and allowing 32 goals. Up next, Udinese will face Monza away Saturday.

ROTOWIRE
Matteo Palma - Subbed off against Como
Palma had three clearances and one block and completed 15 passes in 45 minutes in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Como before bowing out at the interval due to a thigh problem, coach Kost...
Impact
Palma did a decent job while replacing Christian Kabasele (suspension) but didn't return from the locker room after halftime due to a muscular issue that will need to be evaluated ahead of next Monday's clash with Lazio. Enzo Ebosse took his place in the back. The starter is disqualified for another tilt.

ROTOWIRE
Idrissa Gueye - Helped off in Como match
Gueye had three shots (zero on target) and two chances created in 72 minutes before being carried off the pitch by the medical staff, TuttoSport relayed.
Impact
Gueye was busy and slippery but quite wasteful while filling in for Kenan Davis (thigh), who was a late scratch. He seemingly suffered a muscular injury in the second half and couldn't continue. He'll be assessed in the next few days ahead of Saturday's game versus Monza. Vakoun Bayo would start if needed.

Keinan Davis - Late scratch for Como meeting
Davis won't play against Como on Saturday due to muscle fatigue, La Gazzetta dello Sport relayed.
Impact
Davis is suffering from a mild issue, and the coach decided not to take any chances to avoid more serious ones. He'll try to recover for next Saturday's away game against Monza. Idrissa Gueye is stepping in since Adam Buksa is on his way out. Vakoun Bayo is the only other striker in the squad.

ROTOWIRE
Adam Buksa - Out for Como tilt
Buksa "won't be available Saturday, as he's already left to join Mallorca," coach Kosta Runjaic relayed.
Impact
Buksa was looking for a more consistent role and will head to Spain to find it, while he would have continued to back up Keinan Davis at Udinese. Idrissa Gueye and Vakoun Bayo will absorb his minutes behind the starter.

Alessandro Zanoli - Not cleared yet
Zanoli has been practicing regularly, but he didn't make the game-day squad list for Saturday's Coppa Italia match versus Padova and didn't get minutes in the friendlies.
Impact
Zanoli is getting close after tearing his knee in late January, but he's not quite ready yet and will likely miss time at the beginning of the season. He'll need a while to round into shape after exiting the rehab protocol. Mergim Vojvoda has replaced Kingsley Ehizibue as the starter at the position, with Oier Zarraga and Nicolo Bertola as his deputies for the time being.

ROTOWIRE
Maduka Okoye - Recovers for Coppa Italia tilt
Okoye (shoulder) will be available Saturday against Padova, coach Kosta Runjaic relayed.
Impact
Okoye has shaken off a shoulder problem more quickly than anticipated and won't face limitations heading into the season, although Udinese could still elect to add a new deputy after parting ways with two earlier in the summer.

ROTOWIRE
Maduka Okoye - Picks up shoulder injury
Okoye might miss the first two Serie A rounds due to a shoulder sprain, Messaggero Veneto reported.
Impact
Okoye got hurt while preparing for next season and might need a month to make a full recovery, which would sideline him for the first two or three tilts. He'll be monitored over the next couple of weeks to better determine his status, but the team is considering bringing in a new goalie to join him and Daniele Padelli following the departures of Razvan Sava and Alessandro Nunziante.

Mergim Vojvoda - Heads to Udinese
Vojvoda has joined Udinese on a permanent transfer from Como and agreed to a two-year contract with an option.
Impact
Vojvoda scored and assisted twice in 30 appearances (19 starts) last season, adding 66 crosses (19 accurate), 23 clearances and 29 key passes while playing in multiple roles. He'll compete with Alessandro Zanoli, who's returning from an ACL tear, and Hassane Kamara on both flanks at Udinese, while previous starter Kingsley Ehizibue is out of contract at the moment.

Giorgi Chakvetadze - Recovering from foot injury
Chakvetadze suffered a fracture of the third metatarsal in his right foot during his most recent international appearances with Georgia in early June, Udinese announced.
Impact
Chakvetadze switched sides despite the injury and will spend a few more weeks rehabbing. It's unclear at this stage whether he'll be ready for the Serie A opener in late August.

ROTOWIRE
Keinan Davis - Extends contract with Udinese
Davis has agreed to a new deal until 2031 with Udinese, the team announced.
Impact
Davis was drawing some outside interest after his best and healthiest campaign in a few years, but the renewal likely means that he's staying put this summer. He notched 10 goals, four assists and 50 shots (25 on target) in 30 appearances (27 starts) in 2025/2026 and will look to build on it.

ROTOWIRE
Unai Gomez - Moves to Udinese
Gomez signed a contract until 2031 with Udinese after joining from Athletic Club.
Impact
Gomez heads to Serie A after being a regular for Athletic Club for the past three campaigns. He scored and assisted once and notched 29 shots (nine on target), 40 crosses and 18 tackles in 33 appearances across all competitions last year. He could have a big role if either Arthur Atta or Jurgen Ekkelenkamp leaves the club later in the summer. Udinese also recently added Giorgi Chakvetadze in the midfield.

ROTOWIRE
Giorgi Chakvetadze - Joins Udinese
Chakvetadze has joined Udinese from their sister team Watford.
Impact
Chakvetadze spent the last three campaigns in England, totaling three goals and 13 assists in 107 showings across all competitions. He previously starred for Slovan Bratislava and Gent. He'll start as a deputy in multiple positions in the midfield and in the attack, as he's very versatile, eyeing a bigger role should one of the Udinese linchpins depart later in the summer.
JULY 6
•
ROTOWIRE
Sandi Lovric - Returning to Udinese
Lovric has reported back to Udinese after his loan at Verona.
Impact
Lovric couldn't significantly help Verona avoid relegation because of a muscular injury and starred just eight times (three starts), registering three shots (one on target), six chances created and 31 crosses (nine accurate) in the second half of the campaign. He wasn't playing much at Udinese after being a linchpin for three consecutive seasons, so his future is up in the air.
