The 25-year-old did not play a single match for the club before leaving on his loan last season despite appearing 11 times in 2022. With Atlanta currently only rostering six different players in defense, it can be assumed as of now that the defender will see a decent amount of time on the bench next season but most likely won't be a starter, as most of Atlanta's regular starters in the backline are returning, pending Miles Robinson's decision on a new contract.

Impact McFadden rarely saw the field during the first half of the 2023 MLS season, and he'll be sent out on loan so he can get some much-needed first-team experience with an eye toward competing for a regular squad role next year.

Signs contract with Atlanta McFadden has signed a six-month contract with Atlanta United, the club announced Friday.

Impact McFadden had previously been called up from Atlanta's reserve team as a replacement for Tyler Wolff while he was competing in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship with the U.S. Youth National Team. But Wolff's recent loan move to SK Beveren has opened an official roster spot for the 23-year-old McFadden to sign his first contract with the senior team. He has started three consecutive MLS games at right back.
