Transfers to Mallorca Lato has signed a four-year contract with Mallorca after transferring from Valencia, the club announced Monday.

Impact Lato is leaving Valencia after coming up through the club's academy, setting a new personal best in minutes played last season but never starting more than nine matches in a La Liga campaign. The 25-year-old is now moving to Mallorca, where he can begin to phase out veteran Jaume Costa as the first choice left-back once he recovers from a broken rib he suffered in May.

Suffers broken rib over weekend Lato started but was subbed out of Sunday's draw against Espanyol in the 34th minute after breaking his rib, an injury he confirmed on social media Monday.

Impact Lato's contract is up at the end of this season and he will surely leave Valencia having never fully broken into the starting lineup since making his senior debut back in February 2016. The 25-year-old left-back tallied three goals and three assists across 78 appearances (40 starts) in six different La Liga campaigns at the club -- minus a season spent on-loan with PSV and Osasuna in 2019/20 -- and he won the Copa del Rey in 2019.
