Returns to Augsburg Breithaupt will return to parent club FC Augsburg following the conclusion of his loan spell at Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Impact Breithaupt made 15 appearances for Dusseldorf in the 2. Bundesliga this season, contributing one assist, but Dusseldorf did not exercise the option to buy included in the loan agreement. The defensive midfielder joined Augsburg from Karlsruher SC in 2023 and has struggled to break through in the Bundesliga, making just 18 top flight appearances since, including loan spells at Kaiserslautern and now Dusseldorf. He remains under contract with Augsburg through June 2028.
