Impact Muharemovic arrives off the back of a big year, having helped Bosnia and Herzegovina reach this summer's World Cup and making 33 appearances across all competitions for Sassuolo last season as the club settled back into Serie A, finishing 11th after their promotion. He began his career in Austria, making his professional debut for Wolfsberger AC, and needed just six matches there before Juventus moved to sign him, where he went on to earn his first senior caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina. He joined Sassuolo on loan in August 2024 and scored in only his second appearance, going on to help the club win Serie B and secure promotion back to Serie A. Rather than moving on after that promotion, Muharemovic stayed on with Sassuolo once his move was made permanent following 30 appearances. That form also carried into the international stage, where he was a key part of Bosnia and Herzegovina's run through Nations League and World Cup qualifying and the play-offs. He now arrives at Elland Road with 17 senior caps and Serie A experience at just 23, and is expected to be given an immediate route into Leeds' backline following Pascal Struijk's departure to Brighton after eight-and-a-half years at the club.
