Returning to Cincinnati
Jimenez had his contract option picked up by Cincinnati for the 2026 MLS season.
Impact
Jimenez was limited to two appearances and 107 minutes in the 205 season, but that was still an upgrade compared to the previous two years. He'll remain in a backup role for Cincinnati in 2026.

Out once again
Jimenez (foot) is not an option for Saturday's match against the New York Red Bulls, according to the MLS injury report.
Impact
Jimenez was held out for training Friday, implying he would not be an option Saturday, and that has come to fruition after he was listed as out on the club's availability report. Luckily for the club, the midfielder has only appeared once all season as a substitute, with his absence not being an issue. He will now hope to see some improvements in health over the next week, looking to return against Montreal on April 13.

Doesn't train Friday
Jimenez (undisclosed) was not spotted in training Friday ahead of Saturday's game against the Red Bulls, Laurel Pfahler of The Queen City Press reports.
Impact
Jimenez is dealing with a minor knock and was training inside, according to Pfahler, but his availability for this weekend remains uncertain. Even if deemed available, the youngster is not expected to play a prominent role for Cincinnati in midfield, and should be a depth option in a very best-case scenario.

Ready for start of season
Jimenez (lower leg) has fully recovered from an injury that left him out since July of 2023, having started training back in November and now returning with the club for pre-season...
Impact
Jimenez has been training for a while now, so it should come as no surprise that the midfielder will be ready to return in a month for the club's first match of the season against Toronto on Feb. 25. He started training in Cincinnati back in November and since then worked on his development and recovery in Brazil while playing for a futsal team, now being ready to join the club for pre-season training. The 16-year-old will hope to gain more time on the field leading into the new campaign, as he only registered a mere one minute in his first season as a professional footballer.

Single appearance
Murphy made just one appearance before injury ended his 2023.
Impact
Murphy played just a single minute, which isn't much but at the very least it was an MLS debut for the midfielder. Jimenez will now hope to get fit during the offseason before making his way into pre-season.

Out for opener
Jimenez (lower leg) is out for Sunday's clash with RBNY, according to the FC Cincinnati injury report.
Impact
Jimenez will miss the first match in the best-of-three though there is a chance he could return later in the series. That said coming back from a fractured lower leg it's unlikely that Jimenez will be rushed into just his second appearance of the season in the playoffs.

Remains in individual training
Jimenez (lower leg) is in individual training Wednesday, Pat Brennan reports.
Impact
Jimenez returned to individual training Wednesday, giving him a chance to get back on the pitch for the opening round of the playoffs. The midfielder has made just a single in 2023, and has only been in the first team squad three times all season. With that in mind the midfielder has next to no chance to see run in the playoffs.

Out of walking boot
Jimenez (lower leg) is out of his walking boot as he started light work outdoors following his fractured leg injury, per FC Cincinnati Beat reporter Pat Brennan.
Impact
Jimenez is working without a boot and is working on his return from a fractured leg. It is still possible that the midfielder can make it back before the end of the regular season, but will need at least a month at most to return to the pitch and regain fitness before he is an option again.

Set to miss several weeks
Jimenez suffered a lower leg fracture and is set to miss between six to eight weeks, head coach Pat Noonan told reporters Friday.
Impact
Noonan didn't want to specify a timeline on the availability of the midfielder, but he said the team will re-evaluate him in six weeks and go from there. Jimenez hasn't played much this season and is merely a backup option, so his absence shouldn't affect many fantasy decisions going forward.
