Works with team after absence
Oregel (head) returned to practice after being inactive Wednesday against D.C. United, Joe Chatz of On Tap Sports reports.
Impact
Oregel is apparently close to making his return from the injury, although he has seen limited action throughout the season and might not be one of the preferred options in the contention with Anton Saletros (head), Mauricio Pineda and, once he's back from suspension, Dje D'Avilla. Oregel recorded one scoring chance created and two tackles across his previous three appearances off the bench in the 2026 MLS campaign.

Questionable with head concern
Oregel (head) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's match against D.C. United, per the MLS Player Status Report.
Impact
Oregel is a young player working into Chicago's rotation and his head concern is one of two such designations in the Fire's week 13 report. Head issues require formal return-to-play clearance, making a questionable designation a situation the club may manage conservatively. Until his final status is confirmed, Dje D'Avilla and perhaps Mauricio Pineda will look to gain increased playing time.

Ban served
Oregel served his one-match ban during Saturday's 3-0 loss to Philadelphia and is now eligible to open the 2026 season.
Impact
Oregel finished the season on the sideline due to a suspension but is now eligible to make his return. The midfielder made 30 appearances (26 starts) throughout his first campaign with the senior team. Oregel should be a big part of the team to open 2026.

Heading out with NT
Oregel has been called up by the USMNT U20 for the friendly game against Colombia U20 on June 10.
Impact
Oregel has been an undisputed starter in the midfield this season in Chicago but will miss Saturday's match against D.C. United due to the call-up. He should return in time to face Nashville on June 14. His absence will force a change in the starting XI, with Dje D'Avilla expected to start in the midfield on Saturday.
