Pablo Sisniega - Excellent in relief
Sisniega had three saves and secured a clean sheet in Sunday's 4-0 victory over Portland Timbers.
Impact
Sisniega got the start with CJ Dos Santos (concussion) on the sideline Sunday, and he kept a clean sheet and booked a place in the next round. The goalkeeper was excellent in his limited action and did enough to keep San Diego's playoff hopes alive. With a break before the second round, Dos Santos could clear concussion protocols before a Nov. 24 clash with Minnesota.

Hirving Lozano - Assists against Portland
Lozano assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), two crosses (one accurate) and two corners in Sunday's 4-0 win over Portland Timbers.
Impact
Lozano wasn't deemed fit enough to start during the first round of the playoffs, but that didn't stop him from putting his mark on the match. He found the back of the net off the bench in the second game, and he provided an assist off the bench in the third game. That production off the bench is great, but it would be a major boon if he's deemed fit enough to start for the second round showdown with Minnesota after the break.

Valakari assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), three crosses (two accurate) and three chances created in Sunday's 4-0 win over Portland Timbers.
Impact
Valakari set up one goal during Sunday's rout, making the most of his three chances created. The midfielder has been brilliant since making the move to MLS, and he's keeping that going in the playoffs. San Diego will need Valakari firing on all cylinders to keep their first season in the league flying through the playoffs.

Anders Dreyer - Nets two more goals
Dreyer scored two goals to go with three shots (two on goal), six crosses (two accurate) and seven corners in Sunday's 4-0 win over Portland Timbers.
Impact
Dreyer was the MLS newcomer of the season and he showed exactly why during a winner-takes-all round one playoff match. He scored a brace, putting two of his three shots in the back of the net and sending in seven corners. It was an excellent showing, and it's the exact type of performance Dreyer will need to overcome Minnesota in the second round of the playoffs.

Amahl Pellegrino - Nets brace
Pellegrino scored two goals to go with five shots (five on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Sunday's 4-0 victory versus Portland Timbers.
Impact
Pellegrino scored a brace during Sunday's win and did enough to secure a move into the top eight of the MLS Cup playoffs. Luca Bombino - Starting Sunday
Bombino (illness) is in the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with Portland Timbers.
Impact
Bombino has regained health and will remain active on the left side of a back four in the decisive matchup of the first playoffs round. His presence from kickoff leaves Franco Negri among the substitutes for the third straight game. Assuming he's ready for 90 minutes of play, the 19-year-old could be relied on for a variety of stats, having made multiple clearances, tackles and interceptions in most of his recent games while providing an assist on Oct. 27.

Oscar Verhoeven - Sidelined again
Verhoeven (lower body) is out for Sunday's match against Portland, according to the MLS injury report.
Impact
Verhoeven is not going to return in the first round of the playoffs, with the right-back unavailable for the series finale. He will now focus on recovering for the second round, although his return remains up in the air, and his club will have to advance. With Aiden Harangi (lower body) and Verhoeven both out, Ian Pilcher is the likely starter at right-back.

Aiden Harangi - Out with lower-body injury
Harangi is out for Sunday's match against Portland due to a lower-body injury, according to the MLS injury report.
Impact
Harangi had to leave the field two matches, and that will lead to his absence for the final match of the series, as the defender is unable to play. This is rough for the club, as he started in three straight games before the injury. That said, Ian Pilcher should see the start at right-back in his place.

Luca Bombino - Good to go
Bombino has overcome an illness and is fully fit for Sunday's clash with Portland, per manager Mikey Varas.
Impact
Bombino came off after 50 minutes during the second match against Portland, but that was due to an illness, not injury per manager Mikey Varas. The defender is fully fit for the third match of the opening round and will return straight to the starting XI at left-back. Franco Negri should be back on the bench despite playing 40 minutes last time out.

CJ Dos Santos - Not going to start
Dos Santos (head) won't start during Sunday's clash with Portland, per manager Mikey Varas.
Impact
Dos Santos isn't going to be available to start for the third match of the opening round of the playoffs. The goalkeeper came off injured in the second leg, and had to be replaced by Pablo Sisniega. Bombino (undisclosed) was spotted in team training on Thursday after being forced off with an apparent injury in the last game against Portland, the club posted.
Impact
Bombino was forced off in the 50th minute of the last game against Portland due to an undisclosed injury that raised concern among San Diego fans.
