Signs permanently with Augsburg Ribeiro signed a long-term contract with Augsburg through 2031 after the club exercised the purchase option included in his loan agreement from Sporting Lisbon, the club announced.

Impact Ribeiro made an immediate impact during the second half of the season, scoring two goals across 14 appearances including strikes in the 3-2 win at Wolfsburg and the 2-0 home victory against Koln. The 21-year-old Portuguese forward also made his debut for the Portugal under-21 national team in March, underlining his continued development at club and international level. Sporting director Benni Weber highlighted his speed, ability to run in behind defenses and goal-scoring instinct as key factors behind the decision to make the move permanent, describing his profile as a perfect fit for Augsburg's style of play and their commitment to developing young talent.

Impact Ribeiro progressed through all youth levels at Sporting Lisbon and made his professional debut in the Champions League against Manchester City in March 2022, becoming the club's second-youngest Champions League player. The striker has since made 12 competitive appearances for the first team while also spending the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Nottingham Forest, where he featured in five matches. During the current season, the 20-year-old has played mainly for Sporting B in Portugal's second division, scoring five goals and registering one assist in 11 appearances. At international level, Ribeiro has been a regular for Portugal's youth teams since U16 and has recorded three goals and one assist in 15 matches for the U20 side, including the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Germany's U20 team in Oct. 2025.

Impact This seems like more of a trial for Ribeiro, who probably doesn't stand a chance to find playing time in the Premier League at 18 years old. He's featured for the youth Sporting team the last few seasons and may do the same at Forest. If coaching likes what they see, then they'll consider a permanent move in the summer.
