Logs assist
Laryea assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 1-0 win against FC Cincinnati.
Impact
Laryea wasn't creating at a high volume but he did enough to log an assist on the game's only goal. The midfielder will need to do more in this area to break through a strong NYRB defense, though the team did concede 47 times in 34 MLS regular season matches last year.

Limited by injury
Laryea only made 17 appearances in 2025 due to an injury that cost him the first half of the season.
Impact
Laryea had a disappointing season, as injuries hampered him and stopped him from ever building a consistent streak. It didn't help that the team was largely awful throughout the season. Laryea will be a key part of Toronto's turnaround, if they can pull off a quick re-tool.

Serving with Canada
Laryea has been called up by the Canadian national team and is out for Wednesday's match against LAFC.
Impact
Laryea will miss a match over the international break as Toronto still has a match, missing Wednesday when facing LAFC. This will force a change for the club after he started in their past three games, with Raoul Petretta likely to take his spot on the left flank of the defense. He will then look to return for their season finale against Orlando on Oct. 18.

Logs assist in draw
Laryea delivered an assist and made one tackle during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Inter Miami.
Impact
Laryea was having a very quiet outing but at the hour mark he appeared with a huge contribution, assisting Djordje Mihailovic for the goal that drew things level at 1-1. The full-back struggled with injuries once again this year and after this return was far from being a fantasy stud so the goal and the assist he had over the last two starts should definitely be considered an outlier until he proves the opposite.

Four shots in defeat
Laryea recorded four shots (zero on goal) in Saturday's 2-0 loss against Charlotte FC.
Impact
Laryea fired four shots against Charlotte after contributing to just one shot across his first seven MLS appearances this season. The Canadian was very active from an unusual position since he started the game at left-back but could not find a shot on target to help his team avoid the loss. Laryea also contributed with two tackles, one interception, and drew four fouls. He has now started the last four games in three different positions, central defense, defensive midfield, and left-back, and will likely remain a starter moving forward for Toronto.

On bench to face NYC FC
Laryea (not injury related) is on the bench in Thursday's trip to New York City FC.
Impact
Laryea could see some minutes following his involvement in the Gold Cup for the Canadian national team. However, he may only be used as a substitute this time, with Kosi Thompson retaining the starting spot. The veteran has made three MLS appearances in the current campaign, failing to make significant contributions.

Called up by Canada
Laryea has been called up by Canada for the Gold Cup and will not be an option for Toronto again until at least June 24, accoridng to mlssoccer.com.
Impact
Laryea is not going to be with Toronto for the next couple of weeks as he heads off on international duty for the Gold Cup. He will miss at least the next two weeks due to the competition, possibly missing more time if they advance further. The good news is this shouldn't force a change, as he only returned from an injury a match ago and has only played that once since the second game of the campaign.

Laryea (hamstring) is on the bench for Saturday's match against Charlotte.
Impact
Laryea has finally returned from his long absence and is a bench option to face Charlotte on Saturday, having missed their past 14 matches. This is solid news for the club, as he did start before their injury, hopefully returning to that spot after testing his legs off the bench.

Possibility for Saturday
Laryea (hamstring) is a possibility for Saturday's match against Charlotte, accoridng to manager Robin Fraser, per John Molinaro of TFC Republic.
Impact
Laryea is yet to feature since the second week of the season due to a hamstring injury and is now looking at a possible return soon, as he is questionable for Saturday's match. Will miss more time
Laryea will be sidelined for four to six more weeks while recovering from his hamstring injury, according to Waking The Red.
Impact
Laryea travelled to the U.K. for treatment on his hamstring injury, and the fact that he still needs more weeks to get healthy means the injury was, indeed, very serious. The latest update suggests Laryea would be able to return in early-to-mid May in an absolute best-case scenario.

Injury more serious than expected
Laryea (hamstring) doesn't have a timetable for a return to action, manager Robin Fraser told John Molinaro of TFC Republic on Friday.
Impact
Fraser called Laryea's hamstring issue a "medium-term injury." Even though he didn't want to put a timeline on his return, the manager said he'll be out this week and next week as well. To make things even more complicated for Laryea, he's dealing with an injury on the same leg that bothered him for much of the 2024 season.
