Available after visa clearance
Diaz is now available after resolving visa-related issues that had delayed his Atlanta United debut, according to Soccer with Doug.
Impact
Diaz had been unable to make his Atlanta United debut due to unresolved visa-related issues, keeping the former River Plate and Chile center back out of the squad despite being signed and ready to contribute. With his visa now sorted, he should finally be available to suit up, clearing the way for him to step into a role he is expected to hold as a regular starter at the back once he gets on the field.

Not able to play yet
Diaz (not injury related) is out for Saturday's game at Philadelphia.
Impact
Diaz has yet to solve his visa-related issues, meaning the former River Plate and Chile center-back will remain sidelined once again. Diaz is expected to be a regular at the back for Atlanta and should be a lock to start when available, but it remains to be seen when he'll get the green light to suit up. His next chance to feature will come against the New York Red Bulls on Aug. 15 after the opening phase of the Leagues Cup.

Remains out due to visa issues
Diaz (not injury related) is out for Saturday's game against New England since he remains without a visa.
Impact
Diaz should be a regular starter for Atlanta United once he's available, but that won't happen this weekend. It remains to be seen if the Chile international will be able to play against Philadelphia on Aug. 1 in the last MLS game before the start of the Leagues Cup.

Set to miss trip again
Diaz is set to not feature in his second game since signing with Atlanta, as he remains without a visa, per head coach Tata Martino, according to Scarves and Spikes.
Impact
Diaz has yet to see the field for Atlanta since signing, and Martino's update that a visa this week is unlikely all but rules out him traveling for the Charlotte match, just as he already missed the trip to Nashville. The delay extends what was already an adjustment period for a new veteran signing, and there's still no clear sense of when the paperwork issue will actually be resolved.

Not an option yet
Diaz is out for the time being as he finalizes his paperwork following his move to Atlanta, according to the MLS injury report.
Impact
Diaz is not yet an option for Atlanta after signing with the club a few days ago, as he is still finalizing paperwork in his move to America. He is likely to contend for minutes once an option, as he is a useful veteran central defender. However, it may take some time for him to see the field, needing to get used to the club and his teammates first.

Signs with Atlanta United
Diaz signed with Atlanta United through the 2027-28 season, with options for 2028-29 and 2029-30, after departing River Plate, the club announced.
Impact
Diaz has made 364 career club appearances with 27 goals and 11 assists across stints in Chile, Argentina and Saudi Arabia, winning eight titles along the way, including seven trophies during his seven seasons at River Plate. The center back began his career at Palestino before moving through Colo-Colo, San Lorenzo and Al-Ahli, adding 69 appearances for San Lorenzo alone with eight goals and four assists. Diaz is expected to bring experience and defensive stability to Atlanta United's backline once his international roster paperwork is finalized.
