Joins New England
Gonzalez has signed a two-year contract with the Revolution, the club announced Wednesday.
Impact
Gonzalez leaves Toronto after 73 appearances (with four goals) in two-and-a-half years as a free agent, and he now moves to New England where he will compete with Henry Kessler and Andrew Farrell for a spot in central defense. The 33-year-old instantly becomes one of the most experienced players on his new team, having won three MLS Cups with the Galaxy and earned 52 caps with the U.S. National Team throughout his career.

Out against D.C.
Gonzalez is not in Toronto's match day squad for Sunday's clash against D.C. United.
Impact
Gonzalez isn't with the team on Decision Day, meaning his season is over. He scored three goals but only kept one clean sheet in 27 MLS appearances (26 starts) with Toronto in 2021. The 33-year-old missed some time with a lower body injury in October, but he held up well physically for the most part. But this was a disappointing campaign overall for Toronto, and they will want to do better on defense in 2022 than the 63 goals they conceded -- through 33 games -- this year.

Returns to starting XI
Gonzalez (lower body) is in the starting XI for Saturday's clash with Atlanta.
Impact
Gonzalez is making his return to the starting XI after missing about a week dealing with a lower body injury. The defender should be fully fit and ready to go.

Out against Miami
Gonzalez has been ruled out of Wednesday's clash against Inter Miami with a lower body injury, according to John Molinaro of TFC Republic.
Impact
Eriq Zavaleta (concussion) or Chris Mavinga (undisclosed) could fill in for Gonzalez if healthy enough. Zavaleta was available for selection last weekend meaning he might be closer to fitness.

Scores goal against Chicago
Gonzalez scored a goal and won two of two tackles in Sunday's 3-1 victory against the Fire. He also made two blocks, three clearances and an interception in the match.
Impact
Gonzalez headed in his third goal of the season on Sunday, and he was solid in defense against an Eastern Conference struggler as well. After the international window he faces Atlanta United, which have scored 37 times in 28 MLS matches.

Logs goal again
Gonzalez scored one goal during a 2-1 win Saturday versus Nashville.
Impact
The Nashville team logged an unimpressive scoreline during each of its last two games at Toronto. Surprisingly, Gonzalez recorded one goal both times (to help Toronto earn four of six possible points) despite not scoring across 20 other league appearances this year.

Scores in draw
Gonzalez scored once on his only shot during Sunday's one-all draw with Nashville.
Impact
Gonzalez netted his second career MLS goal Sunday, a crucial goal in the draw. The defender is never going to be a big offensive threat, but he has been resolute defensively this season. Next up is a Wednesday trip away to Philadelphia.

Makes six clearances in draw
Gonzalez made six clearances and one block during Wednesday's 1-1 draw against New York Red Bulls.
Impact
Gonzalez had a lot of work against the dangerous Patryk Klimala, but still made a nice job, pacing his side in clearances and holding the opposing attack to just one goal despite the 19 shots attempted. The centre back is a mainstay at the heart of the defense for Toronto and will probably remain in the lineup for Saturday's visit to Chicago.

Late test Saturday
Gonzalez (leg) is considered questionable for Saturday's match against Columbus, according to head coach Chris Armas.
Impact
This doesn't appear to be a serious injury for Gonzalez, but there's a chance it's enough to keep him out of the squad Saturday. He started the first six matches of the season and if this injury is worse than believed, Eriq Zavaleta could come into the XI after replacing Gonzalez last weekend.

Leaves with leg injury
Gonzalez was uneventful before being replaced by Eriq Zavaleta in the 81st minute of the 1-0 loss to Orlando on Saturday.
Impact
Gonzalez had his worst performance by far in the loss Saturday. The defender did not do much on either side of the ball and he would eventually pick up some sort of leg injury late in the match. The extent of the injury is unknown, but if he were to miss time, Toronto would expect to shuffle their backline.

Provides assist in win
Gonzalez provided one assist from one chance created and took two shots (one on goal) during Wednesday's 2-0 win over Columbus.
Impact
Gonzalez was able to set up Jozy Altidore for the game's second goal with a good cross to the far post. He also recorded his first clean sheet of the season in what has been a solid two-way start for Gonzalez through four matches. He'll next face a tough opponent in NYCFC and Valentin Castellanos, who has scored four times in four matches.
