Impact Maupay started the campaign locked up as a starter and had some strong performances to justify his role, with four goals over the first six matches. But then he could only score four more times during the rest of the season, with just one coming after the calendar flipped to 2022. These poor performances would eventually cost him his spot in the lineup and he started just one of the last nine contests, even being an unused substitute in four of them.
