Aston Villa has confirmed the sale of France winger Moussa Diaby to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad for a reported fee of around $65 million

Solid first season with club Diaby appeared in 38 games (25 starts), registering six goals on 54 shots and eight assists on 47 chances created.

Impact Diaby made the move over from Germany this off-season, joining Villa and immediately finding himself in a starting role with his new club. He did hold that role for most of the campaign, although his playing time did take a hit mid-season after the club brought in Morgan Rogers, serving in the same role as Diaby. He did take a slight dip in performance after having fewer goal contributions this year than he did in the past two campaigns. However, that should be expected after joining a more challenging league and a team with numerous scoring options. He is on a long-term deal with the club, so the attacker will be here to stay for a couple more seasons.
