Gio Reyna - Available to face Berlin Reyna (thigh) is on the bench for Friday's match against Union Berlin.
Impact Reyna was deemed an option for Friday's game during the manager's pre-match press conference Thursday, so his presence on the bench isn't surprising. Reyna has yet to score or assist in two Bundesliga outings (one start) in 2025/26, though.
OCTOBER 17 • ROTOWIRE
Franck Honorat - Available off bench Honorat (groin) is on the bench for Friday's match against Union Berlin.
Impact Honorat was able to make the bench and will be an option to boost the attacking line in this contest. The winger was a regular starter before sustaining the injury in September and should recover his role in the XI sooner rather than later.
OCTOBER 17 • ROTOWIRE
Fabio Chiarodia - Out vs. Union Berlin Chiarodia (groin) is out for Friday's match against Union Berlin.
Impact Chiarodia has been dealing with a groin problem, and the defender won't be an option for this clash after not being deemed fit enough to feature. His next chance to play will come against Bayern Munich on Oct. 25, a matchup that doesn't look like a promising fixture for the defender in terms of fantasy upside.
OCTOBER 17 • ROTOWIRE
Franck Honorat - Returning Friday Honorat (groin) is an option for Friday's match against Union Berlin, according to manager Eugen Polanski. "He is back in full training. Franck has been increasing his workload rec...
Impact Honorat has been training fully this week, and that has led him to his return, overcoming a groin injury. This will end a three-game absence for the attacker, marking the return of a regular starter for the club. The question now is if he will see the start immediately, as he did start in their first three games of the season on the right flank.
OCTOBER 15 • ROTOWIRE
Gio Reyna - Option to face Berlin Reyna (thigh) is an option for Friday's match against Union Berlin, according to manager Eugen Polanski. "He is back in full training. Gio heading in from training on Wednesday wa...
Impact Reyna was recalled from training Tuesday but is still going to be an option Friday, with the attacker only skipping for precautionary reasons. This is huge news after missing their past two games, only appearing twice this season due to injuries. He will now hope to remain fit moving forward, a challenge for the attacker in previous seasons.
OCTOBER 15 • ROTOWIRE
Franck Honorat - Training fully Honorat (groin) is back in full team training, Rheinische Post reports.
Impact Honorat is in full team training after overcoming a groin issue and could make a full return during Friday's trip to Union Berlin. The winger would be an immediate part of the starting XI if deemed fully fit. With Robin Hack (knee) and Giovanni Reyna (thigh) in doubt for that clash Friday, Honorat would be a major boon if deemed fit to return.
OCTOBER 14 • ROTOWIRE
Gio Reyna - Withdraws from training Reyna (thigh) withdrew from Friday's training session due to fatigue, Rheinische Post reports.
Impact Reyna was unable to complete Tuesday's training session due to fatigue and potential discomfort with his thigh injury. The fact he was unable to complete a full session Tuesday doesn't bode well for potential availability during Friday's trip to Union Berlin. If Reyna is deemed fit for that match it would only be for a small role it seems.
OCTOBER 14 • ROTOWIRE
Robin Hack - Training individually Hack (knee) returned to individual training throughout Tuesday's session, Rheinische Post reports.
Impact Hack is back in individual training and is working out on the grass once more. It's a good sign that his recovery is coming along well, though there's still no exact timeline on his return. There's some optimism that Hack could be back at the start of November.
OCTOBER 14 • ROTOWIRE
Gio Reyna - Completed return to training Reyna (thigh) completed a full team training session Monday, Rheinische Post reports.
Impact Reyna returned to team training during Monday's session, and completed a full team session. That's a major sign that he should be fit for Friday trip to Union Berlin. Prior to the injury Reyna appeared once off the bench and started once. He has the talent to be a consistent starter when fit, but that might not be immediate on his return, as he's still building fitness.
OCTOBER 13 • ROTOWIRE
Fabio Chiarodia - Struggling with groin injury Chiarodia is in doubt for Friday's trip to Union Berlin, according to Rheinische Post.
Impact Chiarodia suffered a strained groin prior to the international break and is now training alone Monday. He has less time than normal to return before a Friday trip to Union Berlin. The defender has been a starter when fit, but calf and groin issues have proven to be an issue recently. Gladbach switched to a back-four in the final match before the break with Chiarodia out.
OCTOBER 13 • ROTOWIRE
Franck Honorat - Eyeing return Friday Honorat (groin) is eyeing a return when facing Union Berlin on Friday, but is not yet ready for starting minutes, according to Hannah Gobrecht of Rheinische Post.
Impact Honorat is continuing to train and up his fitness levels this week after his return to training during the first week of the break. However, he still seems to be limited and is not ready for the starting time, instead expected to be a bench option if fit. This is still positive after he missed their last three games following a starting role to begin the season, a role he should return to after testing his legs.
OCTOBER 13 • ROTOWIRE
Nathan N`Goumou - Eyeing late November return Ngoumou (Achilles) is looking to return in late November, the player told Karsten Kellermann of Rheinische Post.
Impact Ngoumou has been out since April of last season due to a ruptured Achilles, but finally is planning his return, set to be an option near the end of November. This comes after he plans to get back into team training by the end of October, trying to gain back fitness. He started in nine of his 19 appearances last season and will likely maintain a rotational role once fit, although he could see more time if injuries continue to be an issue in the attack for the club.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Robin Hack - Running during training Hack (knee) was running during training Thursday but is still expected to miss a few more weeks, according to Thomas Grulke of Rheinische Post.
Impact Hack is back on the training pitch during the international break, but he is being limited, only able to run this week. That said, the attacker is still a few weeks from a return after suffering an inner meniscus tear to begin the season. The forward will likely eye a return in November, looking to return to his starting role once fit.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Franck Honorat - Returns to practice pitch Honorat (groin) has returned to limited team training, according to Thomas Grulke of Rheinische Post.
Impact Honorat was expected to rejoin training this week and has, in a limited manner, leaving for the last hour of the session. This is still some decent news for the attacker after three games out, as he did start in all three games to open the season. The club resumes play Oct. 17 against Union Berlin following the international break, with Honorat hoping he can reach full fitness by then.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Gio Reyna - Returns to training Reyna (thigh) has returned to limited team training, according to Thomas Grulke of Rheinische Post.
Impact Reyna is seeing some improvements this week, but has yet to fully join the group for training, instead training but leaving the session an hour early. This is solid news for the attacker who has missed their past two games, only featuring twice in six games this season due to injuries. He will push to return to regular training during the break, facing Union Berlin on Oct. 17 when they return to action.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE

Impact Reitz recorded the most crosses in the match, made 17 passes and also contributed defensively with five tackles and a clearance. He has recorded 14 crosses in the last four games.
OCTOBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
Moritz Nicolas - Registers clean sheet Nicolas made one save and secured a clean sheet in Sunday's 0-0 draw against SC Freiburg.
Impact Nicolas made 21 passes, including three long balls. This clean sheet was a good result, after letting in six against Frankfurt last week. Next, he takes on Union Berlin, who have been unable to score for consecutive games.
OCTOBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
Gio Reyna - Unavailable Sunday Reyna (thigh) is out for Sunday's clash with Freiburg, according to manager Eugan Podolski.
Impact Reyna is on the sideline for Sunday's clash due to the same thigh injury that left him out against Frankfurt. The good news is that he's back on the pitch training and should be fully fit after the international break. For Sunday's clash his absence will likely push Jens Castrop into the attack for another match.
OCTOBER 3 • ROTOWIRE
Franck Honorat - Still out Honorat (groin) isn't an option for Sunday's clash with Freiburg, according to manager Eugan Podolski.
Impact Honorat is training, but wasn't deemed fit enough for Sunday's clash. That means he will get the international break to try and finish his recovery from the groin injury. Florian Neuhaus could start on the wing with Honorat unavailable, with Jens Castrop also likely to push into the attack.

Gladbach sporting director resigns with team at bottom of Bundesliga

Borussia Mönchengladbach sports director Roland Virkus has resigned after the team’s poor start to the Bundesliga season
SEPTEMBER 30 • Associated Press
Moritz Nicolas - Horrible in loss Nicolas had one save and allowed six goals in Saturday's 6-4 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Impact Nicolas faced seven shots and stopped one of them, coming away with six goals allowed during Saturday's loss. It's an awful showing and one that Nicolas will want to forget immediately. The goalkeeper has had some solid showings, but just couldn't do anything against a red-hot Frankfurt attack. Nicolas will need to bounce back quickly with some tough matches on the other side of the international break.
