GAME LOG

Nets heroic goal Niang scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Sunday's 2-1 victory against Roma. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 90th minute.
Impact Niang was the true hero of Sunday's match, as his late 93rd-minute goal would earn Empoli another season in the Serie A on the final kick of the campaign for the club. However, this came after he was only on the field for 45 minutes, appearing as a substitute at halftime. He played in much more of a rotational role since joining the club in January, only starting in five of his 14 appearances despite notching six goals on 24 shots and one assist on nine chances created in his 706 minutes of play. He will now hope his effectiveness this season earns him more of a prominent role heading into the 2024/25 campaign.

Converts penalty in draw Niang scored a goal while taking two shots (one on goal) during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Udinese.
Impact Niang entered the match in the 30th minute and converted a penalty the 90th for the opening goal of the match. The goal was the first in over a month for the attacker who has been a sporadic starter of late.
MAY 19, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Quiet outing at home Niang registered one cross (zero accurate) in Sunday's 0-0 draw versus Frosinone.
Impact Niang had a pretty quiet outing and could not do much stat-wise, failing to take a single shot for the third time in his last four appearances. He led Empoli with six aerials won, at least, but couldn't help them earn the home win. The forward has four goals since transferring from Turkey in February.
MAY 7, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Underwhelming versus Atalanta Niang drew three fouls and generated two shots (zero on goal), one clearance and one cross (zero accurate) in Sunday's 2-0 loss against Atalanta.
Impact Niang returned to the Xi since Alberto Cerri (thigh) got hurt but wasn't very productive. He has scored all his goals off the bench since coming back to Italy, and the coach might move him back to that role, starting Francesco Caputo, if he doesn't get going. He has hit the net once and notched three shots (one on target), one inaccurate cross and one chance created in the last four matches.

Sinks Torino with late goal Niang drew one foul, won one dule and scored one goal to go with one shot (one on target) in Saturday's 3-2 win over Torino.
Impact Niang nudged the ball into the empty net following a defensive miscue and a determined play by Liberato Cacace to win it at the buzzer for his side. He dropped to the bench after three starts and hadn't scored in four fixtures, totaling 12 shots (three on target), six key passes and two accurate crosses. He's up to four goals since joining in January and has been more effective as a sub.
APRIL 7, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Four shots in loss Niang recorded four shots (one on goal) and three chances created in Monday's 2-0 loss versus Inter Milan.
Impact Niang comes away with nothing to show for Monday's clash but individually he was excellent. For large parts of the match he was the sole creative spark and he came close to scoring himself as well. With better finishing around him it's possible he could have had multiple goal contributions Monday. Still there will be easier opponents ahead of Niang moving forward.
APRIL 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Fires four shots Niang attempted four shots (one on target) and two crosses (both accurate) in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Bologna.
Impact Niang missed a glorious chance to open the scoring, inexplicably failed to get his shot off when through on goal. He managed more shots than any of his teammates. The striker has blanked in each of the last three after netting three goals in his first three appearances for Empoli.
MARCH 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Buries another penalty in Sassuolo game Niang scored one goal to go with four shots (two on target), one interception, one tackle (zero won), and four successful duels in Saturday's 3-2 win over Sassuolo.
Impact Niang made it three out of three from the spot since coming back to Italy. He has been highly effiencet while routinely relieving Alberto Cerri in the second halves of recent fixtures. He has added an assist, six shots (four on target) and one chance in three appearances.
FEBRUARY 24, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Converts PK in Fiorentina game Niang drew three fouls, won three duels and scored one goal to go with one shot (one on target) in Sunday's 1-1 draw versus Fiorentina.
Impact Niang put his name on the stat sheet for the second consecutive game with Empoli, bagging another penalty kick in impeccable fashion. He came off at halftime in this one, and it might not be long before he starts over either Alberto Cerri or Nicolo Cambiaghi given his performances. He has added one assist, two shots (two on target) and one key pass since coming back to Italy.
FEBRUARY 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Scores and assists on debut Niang came off the bench to score a penalty and register an assist in Friday's 3-1 win against Salernitana.
Impact Niang entered the fray in the 70th minute and had a debut to remember, cooly slotting away his penalty before setting up Matteo Cancellieri's goal with a through ball. The striker scored eight times in 16 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig while at Adana Demirspor during the first half of the season.
FEBRUARY 12, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Heads back to Serie A Niang has moved to Empoli on a permanent deal from Adana Demirspor, the team announced.
Impact Niang returns to Italy after several years in France with Rennes, Bordeaux, and Auxerre and a season and a half in Turkey. He has put up good numbers this year, scoring eight times and providing two assists in 20 appearances. He'll be an extra option up front alongside Francesco Caputo, Alberto Cerri, Nicolo Cambiaghi, and Matteo Cancellieri.
