Returns to training Thursday
De Ligt (knee) was back in training Thursday as he continues to recover from a knee injury, the club reported Thursday.
Impact
De Ligt looks to be in decent shape to return to the team sheet Sunday against Bremen, having been involved in training ahead of the contest. Manager Thomas Tuchel already alluded to the player being involved Sunday, but his chances took a huge boost Thursday after training. If he is available, there is a solid chance he will be tossed into the starting XI immediately, as fellow central defender Kim Min-Jae is on international duty for the Asian Cup, and Eric Dier (undisclosed) is in doubt for the game due to injury. It will be interesting to see how this situation develops, as the defender has already missed 11 contests this season due to injury and will want to avoid missing any more time this season due to injury issues.

Could play Sunday
De Ligt (knee) could play during Sunday's clash with Werder Bremen, manager Thomas Tuchel told reporters.
Impact
De Ligt would need to return to training Friday to have a real chance to start Sunday but it appears the knee injury he suffered in training isn't as serious as originally feared. De Ligt being able to play straight away would be a tremendous boon for Munich, as injuries elsewhere have put their backline in doubt for Sunday's clash.

Picks up knee injury
De Ligt (knee) suffered a capsular injury and was forced to sotp training, Munich announced.
Impact
De Ligt was forced to stop training, but he could still be back sooner rather than later. He will certainly be a heavy doubt for a Sunday clash with Bremen, potentially pushing Konrad Laimer into the starting XI. De Ligt has seen major minutes of late, especially Min-Jae Kim at the AFC Asian Cup.

Back on bench
De Ligt (knee) is starting on the bench for Sunday's match versus Stuttgart.
Impact
De Ligt looks to have recovered from his knee injury that has kept him out for the last month as he is starting on the bench. He will likely continue his depth option for the team as a backup center back for the team during his second season with Bayern Munich.

Completes parts of training
De Ligt (knee) returned to team for the first time after completing parts of training ahead of Sunday's match against Stuttgart.
Impact
De Ligt is making great steps to his return to the pitch after participating in parts of team training Wednesday. If all goes well, the defender could see a return as soon as Sunday. He's missed the last month and a half through a knee issue, having made four starts in eight appearances prior to his injury.

Not in squad to face Man United
De Ligt (knee) is not in the squad to face Manchester United on Tuesday.
Impact
The center-back remains out and won't be an option to take on The Red Devils in the final match of the UEFA Champions League group stage. Even when he's fit to return, he'll likely be a depth option behind Kim Min-Jae and Dayot Upamecano.

Trains individually Monday
De Ligt (knee) was pictured individually training on Monday ahead of Wednesday's match against Copenhagen.
Impact
De Ligt seems to be making decent progress on his return, training for the first time since going down with an injury in early November. It is most likely the club will not rush the defender back to play, and he may still not play for a couple more weeks, as he was already injured before this season and has now missed seven matches in total with the knock. He could return for the Dec. 9 game against Frankfurt but would most likely start on the bench for that match.

Injures knee ligament
De Ligt suffered a ligament injury to his knee and is expected to miss the next four to six weeks, per the Bild.
Impact
De Ligt is back on the injured list with a knee injury picked up Wednesday. He had started the last three matches in a row before going back down on injury. With Dayot Upamecano (hamstring) still not ready to return and Joshua Kimmich suspended for two Bundesliga matches, several chances in the lineup are to be made, with Konrad Laimer likely moving to center back and Bouna Sarr an option to start in the defensive midfield alongaide Leon Goretzka.

Brought off early
De Ligt came off in the first half of Wednesday's clash with Saarbrucken, with an apparent injury.
Impact
De Ligt was forced off after just 27 minutes. The center-back was never going to be risked even with the slightest of knocks so it's not clear how serious the injury might be. At the very least De Ligt will be a major doubt for Saturday's Der Klassiker.

Back on training pitch
De Ligt (knee) took part in first-team training in the lead-up to Saturday's matchup with Mainz.
Impact
De Ligt could be poised to return after a three-match stint on the shelf due to his knee issue. While the defender had made just one appearance in the starting XI this season, the indefinite absence of Dayot Upamecano (hamstring) will likely see De Ligt pressed into service once given the green light to play.

Doing individual work
De Ligt (knee) was on the pitch for individual work Wednesday.
Impact
While it's a step in the right direction for De Ligt, he still isn't training with the full squad and should probably be considered a doubt to face Mainz on Oct. 21 after the international break. The central defender was making his first start of the season when he was hurt but could be pressed into service depending on the availability of Dayot Upamecano (thigh).

Still not training
De Ligt (knee) was not in training Friday and will not be an option for Sundays match against Freiburg, according to manager Thomas Tuchel.
Impact
De Ligt will sit out Sunday as he has yet to return to training following a knee injury. He's only started once in five appearances this season. The defender will likely not return until after the international break against Mainz on Oct 21.

ROTOWIRE
Not an option for UCL
De Ligt (knee) will not be available for Tuesday's UCL match against Copenhagen after being left out of the traveling squad.
Impact
De Ligt will miss another game with the injury bug after not traveling with the team to Copenhagen. He missed both games last week due to a knock and could return this week, but he will most likely be held out until after the international break to make sure he doesn't aggravate the injury again.

Not expected to play Saturday
De Ligt (knee) is not expected to play Saturday against Leipzig, confirmed manager Thomas Tuchel. "I can't confirm it completely yet, but the trend is that."
Impact
De Ligt did not train Thursday as he is expected to sit out Saturday with a knee injury. He's made just one start in five matches, totaling five clearances and two interceptions thus far.

ROTOWIRE
Not at practice
De Ligt (knee) was not in attendance for practice Thursday, raising doubts regarding his availability against RB Leipzig on Saturday.
Impact
De Ligt's potential absence could compound an already thin defensive group that is dealing with injuries to Kim Min-Jae (thigh) and Dayot Upamecano (groin), though that duo was training Thursday. If all three players are fit Saturday, it's De Ligt who will likely find himself watching from the bench considering he has made just one start in six matches this season.

ROTOWIRE
Will miss Pokal clash
De Ligt (knee) will be out of action for Tuesday's DFB Pokal matchup with PreuBen Munster.
Impact
De Ligt was making just his first appearance in the starting XI when he was forced off at halftime due to his knee problem. The central defender did manage to score a goal before having to exit Saturday's clash. If it weren't for the injury, De Ligt may have been in contention to start the cup clash in order to keep Dayot Upamecano ready for the Bundesliga action versus RB Leipzig on Saturday.

Impact
De Ligt has struggled to make the squad this year and will have an even harder time now that he went down with an undisclosed injury. He appeared to pick up the knock on Saturday against Bochum after exiting the match early in the 45th minute. There is currently no timetable for his return, and he could be healthy for this weekend's match against Leipzig.

ROTOWIRE
Scores first goal of season
De Ligt scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Saturday's 7-0 victory versus Bochum.
Impact
De Ligt earned his first start of the season and scored with his only shot on target. He also chipped in defensively with a tackle (one won) on top of one interception and four clearances.

ROTOWIRE
Yet to start
De Ligt finished 2022/23 as a consistent piece of the backline but has yet to start before the break.
Impact
De Ligt has ended up behind both Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-Jae in the pecking order and has only appeared off the bench. With the DFB Pokal and Champions League in full flow after the international break it seems like that there will be more rotation in the Bayern backline moving forward.
