Lans back with Columbus Russell-Rowe's contract option for 2026 was picked up, Columbus announced.

Impact Russell-Rowe had the best year of his career in 2025, scoring nine goals and adding a pair of assists in a career-high 34 appearances. After a bit of a fourth-year breakout, it's no surprise that his option was picked up. Russell-Rowe should continue to compete for big minutes back with Columbus in 2026.

Impact Russell-Rowe scored a massive goal Saturday, a strike in the 63rd minute assisted by Andres Herrera which took the 1-0 lead. That goal made it seem like Columbus could pull off the upset win, but Brenner scored a quick equalizer and then a winner late in the match. Russell-Rowe's season has come to an end, and it was an odd campaign for him. He began the season as a starter but lost that place as the season progressed and the club brought in more forwards. He went over four months without a goal contribution, a streak that was broken in Game 2 versus Cincinnati. Despite all that it was the most productive season of his career as he scored nine goals and recorded two assists in 34 appearances (19 starts).

Impact Russell-Rowe secured a pair of goal contributions right after he subbed onto the pitch Sunday, his first two since he scored a brace on June 25th versus Atlanta. He subbed onto the pitch in the 61st minute, assisted Andres Herrera's goal in the 65th minute and then took the 4-0 lead in the 69th minute with a strike of his own. It's been a very rough run of form for him over the second half of this season, but this performance could give him the confidence to make an impact in Game 3 on Saturday.
