Impact Petkov picked up where he left off after a strong second division campaign last season, when he tallied 13 goals and six assists in 34 games, following it up with a big performance here. He scored the opener and set up another goal, starting on the right wing and playing all 90 minutes. Of Elversberg's 11 shots in the game, Petkov contributed to four, creating two chances and taking two shots himself.

Impact Petkov looks to be getting a chance with the first team but it can't happen just yet if he's hurt. He scored 11 goals and logged five assists last season for SC Verl in the third tier and still has to prove what he can do in the Bundesliga.

Signs extension Petkov agreed to terms on a contract extension with FC Augsburg through 2024 and will join SC Verl on loan for the 2021-22 campaign.

Impact Petkov appeared in 23 matches for RL Bayern this season in which he recorded five goals and four assists. He did make a brief three-minute substitute cameo for Augsburg this year in the season finale but is likely a longer-term project for the club.
