GAME LOG

Out against Stuttgart Nmecha (knee) will miss Saturday's match against Stuttgart after skipping Friday's training session, according to manager Nico Kovac.
Impact Nmecha picked up a knee injury over the international break and while it's likely a minor issue, is enough to knock him out of a league contest as well. Luca Waldschmidt will become an important piece to the lineup for as long as Nmecha is out.
SEPTEMBER 30, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Returns early to club Nmecha has returned to his club after suffering a knee issue with the German national team, the DFB announced Saturday.
Impact Nmecha will hope he hasn't picked up anything too serious on returning from his first national team camp. With three goals on the season in seven games, Nmecha is off to a solid start but might be questionable for the Oct. 1 game against Stuttgart, leaving Luca Waldschmidt and Josip Brekalo as two options to take on a bigger attacking burden.
SEPTEMBER 25, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Quiet performance against Union Nmecha had one off-target shot and drew four fouls during Sunday's 2-0 loss against Union Berlin.
Impact Nmecha was questionable for this match after missing some training sessions during the week but made the starting XI and played the full 90. But the forward was a non-factor during the entire match, being easily held in check by opposing defenders. Nmecha will now play for Germany during the international break and then try to help his side bouncing back on Oct. 1 in a home clash versus Stuttgart.
SEPTEMBER 21, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Starting Sunday Nmecha made the starting lineup for Sunday's match against Union Berlin.
Impact Nmecha had missed some time in training but that didn't stop him from making a seventh start to open the season. With three goals scored already, he's also made the German national team and could become even more valuable in the coming weeks.
SEPTEMBER 18, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Misses training session Nmecha missed Thursday's training session ahead of Sunday's match against Union Berlin, according to manager Nico Kovac.
Impact Nmecha has completed the full 90 in four of his six starts to open the season, including in each of the last two contests against Koln and Eintracht Frankfurt. As he's also made Germany's squad for the international window, Nmecha may prioritize his fitness for those games over making any potential issues worse, allowing Luca Waldschmidt to take on a bigger role.

Shut down in loss Nmecha had three shots (one on goal) and one chance created in Sunday's 2-0 loss versus Bayern Munich.
Impact Nmecha found space for three shots during Sunday's loss, but accomplished next to nothing with those shots and created only a single chance. This is the toughest match of the season and a Saturday clash against newly-promoted Schalke should be a great chance for Nmecha to get right back on track.
AUGUST 14, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Scores in draw Nmecha scored a goal off two shots (one on target), created one chance and was shown a yellow card during Saturday's 2-2 draw against Werder Bremen.
Impact Nmecha needed only 11 minutes to score his first goal of the season, beautifully chipping the ball over the goalkeeper inside the box. After dealing with injuries during his previous campaign, the forward will try to finally showcase his skills with hopes of guaranteeing a spot in Germany's squad for this year's World Cup. Aug 14 visit to Bayern Munich will be definitely a great test for him.
AUGUST 7, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Breakout marred by injury Nmecha scored eight goals during 25 appearances (18 starts) in the Bundesliga.
Impact Nmecha got off to a red-hot start to the season breaking out in a huge way and even earning a call-up and start for the German national team. Unfortunately a major injury derailed his season knocking him out for multiple months. Nmecha returned and didn't have his brilliance from the original start of the season, though the addition of Jonas Wind should give Nmecha a strong scoring environment heading into the 2022/23 season. Nmecha has shown the talent to be one of the best players in Germany, 2022/23 should be his chance to show just how good he can be.

Thirty minutes in return Nmecha (ankle) played 30 minutes during Saturday's 1-0 win over Union Berlin.
Impact Nmecha came off the bench in the second half and played 30 minutes in his return from a serious ankle injury. The striker lined up alongside Jonas Wind and just ahead of Max Kruse, a front-three that should be one of the most dangerous in the Bundesliga. Nmecha is the top offensive option for Wolfsburg, and alongside Jonas Wind, could be the long-term striker in the side.
MARCH 5, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Starts on bench against Union Berlin Nmecha will start on the bench in the match against Union Berlin on Saturday.
Impact Nmecha will start Saturday's fixture on the bench. The striker has recently recovered from an ankle injury.

Available on Saturday Nmecha (ankle) is in the squad for Saturday's clash with Union Berlin, according to manager Florian Kohfeldt.
Impact Nmecha is available Saturday and should expect a "decent amount of playing time." The forward has come back from an injury that was potentially season-ending extremely quickly and should be a huge boost for Wolfsburg. It's not clear how Nmecha, Jonas Wind, and Max Kruse will all fit into the starting XI, though there's a good chance that Nmecha and Wind are the long-term strike pairing.
MARCH 3, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Misses match against Monchengladbach Nmecha has been ruled out of the match against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.
Impact Nmecha will not take part in Saturday's fixture. The attacking player could not recover in time from an ankle injury.

Game-time call Saturday Nmecha (ankle) is a game-time call for Saturday's clash with Gladbach, according to manager Florian Kohfeldt.
Impact Nmecha is actually a possibility for Saturday's clash with Gladbach, an incredible turnaround after an injury that was initially reported to be potentially season-ending. The forward will hope to return as soon as possible, though Wolfsburg are unlikely to rush their young superstar back and risk re-injuring his ankle.
FEBRUARY 24, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Far ahead of schedule Nmecha (ankle) is considered day-to-day, according to manager Florian Kohfeldt.
Impact Nmecha is already considered day-to-day and is several months ahead of schedule on his recovery. The forward is in the midst of a breakout season and is seemingly recovering as exceptionally as he played all season. Nmecha will look to return to the starting XI in the coming weeks, though Wolfsburg certainly won't want to rush their young superstar back.
FEBRUARY 10, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Running outside Nmecha (ankle) was shown running outside during training Monday.
Impact Nmecha running outside is fantastic to see, but until he starts training with any sort of intensity it's unrealistic to think a return is near. The striker has had a stellar breakout campaign, one that included a call-up to the German National Team, derailed by a nasty ankle injury. Nmecha is still targeting a return before the end of the 21/22 season.
FEBRUARY 7, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Still out long-term Nmecha (lower leg) is out with long-term ligament damage and is still a long-term absentee, according to manager Florian Kohfeldt.
Impact Nmecha is dealing with a long-term serious ankle injury and is still expected to be out long-term. The striker was one of the breakout players in the Bundesliga and has been simply incredibly. Nmecha even managed to break into the German national team. Yannick Gerhardt has taken some of Nmecha's playing time though the striker has proven hard to replace.
JANUARY 14, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Scores, comes off injured against Koln Nmecha took four shots and scored a goal in Tuesday's 3-2 defeat against FC Koln, but he was subbed out in the 65th minute after suffering an injury.
Impact Nmecha opened the scoring early on Tuesday with his sixth goal of the Bundesliga season, but Wolfsburg confirmed Wednesday that he suffered an ankle injury in the second half that will rule him out for several weeks. The good news is that there's only one more game before the Bundesliga's winter break, so he will have time to recover before the season starts back up again in January. Yannick Gerhardt could fill in for him against Bayern on Friday.
DECEMBER 15, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Registers five shots Saturday Nmecha recorded five shots (one on target) and two crosses (zero accurate) in Saturday's 2-0 loss to Stuttgart.
Impact Nmecha led the team in shots and should continue to feature heavily in the club's attack. As such, the attacking midfielder should continue to offer top-half fantasy value moving forward, including in Tuesday's matchup with Koln.
DECEMBER 14, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Takes four shots in loss Nmecha had four off-target shots during Saturday's 3-0 loss against Mainz.
Impact Nmecha bounced back from the lackluster performance on the previous match, being Wolfsburg's most active player on the offensive end, but wasn't able to convert his opportunities. Regardless of the position he's deployed in, the forward is always a menace and his side will need him to be at his best during Wednesday's pivotal UCL match against Lille.
