Signs five year deal with Newcastle Hornicek signed a five year contract with Newcastle United from SC Braga, becoming the club's fifth senior addition of the summer, according to the club.

Impact Hornicek helped Braga reach the Europa League semifinals last season and finish fourth in Portugal's top flight, keeping 12 clean sheets while conceding just 33 goals, performances that earned him a call up to the Czech Republic's World Cup squad. The 24 year old goalkeeper spent seven years at Braga after initially joining on loan from Pardubice, establishing himself as the club's first choice starter in January 2025, and now joins Newcastle's preseason training camp in Spain to begin integrating with his new teammates. Hornicek is expected to become the new number one goalkeeper for the Magpies under the new coaching staff.
