Impact Felipe could aim to make his season debut in October after struggling with a considerable injury. In that case, he'll be expected to make a gradual comeback, offering an interesting defensive contributor in the contention with Mujaid Sadick and Pelayo Fernandez. However, the experienced center-back is not yet expected to start, so his value may be limited in a bench role.

Back in team training Felipe (hamstring) was spotted in team training this week, the club posted.

Impact Felipe had been recovering from a high grade hamstring tear that had previously been expected to keep him out for a further three weeks, an absence dating back to the start of the season. His return to training now marks a significant step forward in that recovery process, positioning him to build toward regaining a role once fully cleared.

Expected to miss three more weeks Felipe (hamstring) is still recovering from a high-grade tear in his hamstring and is likely to remain ou a further three weeks, according to Pablo Villa of Marca.

Impact Felipe has been out to open the season after suffering a serious injury in his hamstring, still unable to recover after a few weeks. That said, he will continue on the sidelines, as the defender will likely remain out for a further three weeks as he recovers. This will leave him eyeing a return following the September break, giving the club a bit more depth from the bench once he returns.

Extends contract for one season Felipe has agreed a new deal with Rayo Vallecano to remain at the club for one more season, according to the club.

Impact Felipe made 10 appearances for Rayo last season, including seven starts, contributing 12 tackles, eight interceptions and 24 clearances across two clean sheets, before a high grade hamstring tear suffered in Athens required surgery and ended his campaign early with a four month recovery timeline. The extension keeps him tied to the club as he continues his recovery, though the injury means he is expected to miss the start of next season as well. Rayo will need to manage its center back options carefully in the meantime, with Felipe's return likely to come only once preseason and the early weeks of the campaign have passed.

Impact Felipe ends the campaign having made 10 appearances including seven starts, contributing 12 tackles, eight interceptions and 24 clearances across two clean sheets for Rayo. The severity of the tear clearly went beyond what had been initially indicated during his previous absences, and the surgical intervention means he will miss the start of next season as well. Rayo will need to manage their defensive options carefully for the final fixtures and the UEFA Conference League run without one of their experienced center-back options.

Impact Felipe was already doubtful for Thrusday and it is only confirmed now that he will indeed miss out. Impact Felipe had been forced off after 55 minutes in the AEK clash and his absence from Monday's team training session suggests the issue has not fully resolved in time for the weekend. The situation is particularly concerning for Rayo with Florian Lejeune and Nobel Mendy both suspended for the Espanyol fixture, leaving coach Inigo Perez stretched for defensive options. Pathe Ciss, Jozhua Vertrouwd and Abdul Mumin are among the candidates to fill the void if Felipe cannot be cleared, with the club managing several fitness concerns heading into what is already a difficult fixture.

Forced off in Conference League Felipe was unable to continue after 55 minutes of play in Thursday's UEFA Conference League loss to AEK Athens.

Impact Felipe is now doubtful for future clashes, with the exact severity of his issue still unknown. He has been used as part of a center-back rotation lately, and his potential absence would reduce the squad's depth in that zone. In that case, Pathe Ciss might be deployed in the defense, while Jozhua Vertrouwd and Abdul Mumin could also see their playing time increased.
