Season debut in Cup Pires made his first appearance of the season during Tuesday's 2-1 win over Derby.

Impact Pires didn't appear in the first two Premier League matches but started and played 90 minutes during Tuesday's clash in the Carabao Cup. He didn't get on the scoresheet Tuesday but was one of the best player son the pitch throughout the match, and was crucial throughout. Pires likely won't play much in the Premier League, barring injuries in the starting XI, despite starting 32 matches in the Championship last season.
