GAME LOG

Scores in win Cooper fired two shots (scoring with his shot-on-target) in Leeds dramatic 4-3 comeback win against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Impact Cooper, the captain, was active in defensive duties (making four clearances and two interceptions) and showed that he is a defender that can get on the scoresheet. His goal was a well directed header coming from a Sam Greenwood corner. From seven appearances (six starts) he has scored a goal and contributed to one clean sheet.

Starting at Anfield Cooper is in the starting XI for Saturday's tilt at Liverpool.
Impact Either Leeds just happened to get much healthier over the past couple days, or manager Jesse Marsch wasn't being completely transparent when noting Cooper and Tyler Adams as doubts earlier this week. Whatever the case may be, they're both in the lineup for a tough away matchup at Liverpool. Diego Llorente heads back to the bench with his return.
OCTOBER 29, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Doubt against Liverpool Cooper is considered a doubt for Saturday's trip to Liverpool, according to manager Jesse Marsch.
Impact It's yet another injury for Leeds and this one is the most surprising after Cooper went a full 90 last week. He's started four of the last five matches, but if he can't go Saturday, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente will likely pair at center-back in a difficult match against Liverpool.
OCTOBER 27, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Goes full 90 with U21s Cooper (calf) started and went the full 90 in Friday's match with the U21s.
Impact Cooper should be available to start for the senior team after the international break, as he stayed on the bench for their Sept. 3 match against Brentford. He figures to jump into the starting XI, replacing either Robin Koch or Diego Llorente at center-back. Outside of defensive stats, Cooper managed just six shots and four chances created in 21 starts last season.
SEPTEMBER 19, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Out against Chelsea Cooper (Achilles) didn't make the match day roster for Sunday's match against Chelsea.
Impact Cooper has yet to play this season and it's unclear when exactly he'll make his debut. Until he gets his chance to play, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente figure to remain the top options at center-back.
AUGUST 21, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Considered day-to-day Cooper (Achilles) is considered day-to-day ahead of Sunday's match against Chelsea, according to manager Jesse Marsch.
Impact Cooper was supposedly an option last week and now he's "day-to-day," which makes it seem like he's not ready to play just yet. He'll get in another week of training and then possibly be an option, but for now, he's not expected to immediately come into the starting XI for Robin Koch or Diego Llorente.
AUGUST 19, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Remains out Cooper (Achilles) is not in the match day squad to face Southampton on Saturday.
Impact Cooper returned to training in the buildup to the match but has not recovered enough to feature in Saturday's squad. Cooper will hope to get more training in this week, though there are reports he suffered a setback, which could point to more time on the sidelines after missing the first two matches of the season.
AUGUST 13, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Option at Southampton Cooper (Achilles) has been training and is available for Saturday's trip to Southampton, according to manager Jesse Marsch.
Impact Cooper hadn't been training for more than a month, so there's no reason to expect him in the starting XI Saturday. Once fully fit and healthy, he figures to return to the XI, either in the spot of Robin Koch or Diego Llorente. Slowly but surely, Leeds are getting back a few players from minor injuries.

AUGUST 4, 2022 • THEATHLETIC.COM
Hopeful to train next week Cooper (Achilles) will miss Saturday's opener against Wolves but is hopeful to return to team training next week, according to manager Jesse Marsch.
Impact This isn't too surprising for Cooper, who didn't feature in the preseason and hasn't been training with the team. The good news is that he's edging closer and could be available in a couple weeks. Until then, it's expected Robin Koch and Diego Llorente will feature at center-back in early matches.
AUGUST 4, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with Achilles issue Cooper is dealing with an Achilles issue in the pre-season, according to manager Jesse Marsch. "So it's been about a month now and we haven't really been able to get him going. We'...
Impact There's a real chance Cooper won't be ready for the start of the season, as he's apparently been out the past month. It's already bad news for Leeds, who couldn't stay healthy last season. Cooper is a regular in the starting XI when healthy, but he was only healthy enough for 21 starts last season.
JULY 21, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Reclaims spot in starting XI Cooper started six of the last eight matches of the year in which he garnered two shots (one on target), 29 clearances and 15 interceptions.
Impact Cooper has just three goals over his last three seasons, so fantasy players shouldn't be banking on him offering more than mid-range fantasy value in contests that utilize defensive stats. Still, the central defender should be a fixture in the Leeds starting XI now that his injury concerns appear to be behind him.
JUNE 3, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
In starting XI Wednesday Cooper (undisclosed) is in the starting XI for Wednesday's match against Chelsea.
Impact Cooper missed the last two matches, but he's been training and is in the starting XI Wednesday. The question is position, as it looks like he could be playing right-back for the suspended Luke Ayling. Going further, it also looks like Pascal Struijk is on the left side, so Leeds are going with a bit of a different look at full-back out of need.

MAY 10, 2022 • THEATHLETIC.COM
Hopeful to face Chelsea Cooper (undisclosed) returned to training Tuesday and is a late test for Wednesday's match against Chelsea, according to manager Jesse Marsch.
Impact Cooper missed the last two matches with an unknown injury, but he's apparently close to fitness and could feature Wednesday. If fit, he should move back into the starting XI and that'd likely change a few other spots with right-back and defensive midfield in flux for Wednesday's match.
MAY 10, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Battling knee issue Cooper wasn't in the squad for Sunday's match against Arsenal because of a knee issue, according to manager Jesse Marsch. "Liam Cooper is still feeling his knee a little bit and we...
Impact Cooper missed his second-straight match Sunday and will be a doubt Wednesday against Chelsea. He was supposedly fine and training last week, but something brewed up over the weekend. Robin Koch and Diego Llorente started at center-back in the loss to Arsenal.
MAY 9, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Not in squad Sunday Cooper is not in the match day squad to face Arsenal on Sunday.
Impact Cooper was initial reported to be available by manager Jesse Marsch, but didn't make the squad Sunday. The defender will hope to return for a mid week clash with Chelsea on Wednesday.
MAY 8, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Available against Arsenal Cooper (undisclosed) trained Friday and manager Jesse Marsch "thinks the defender will play" Sunday at Arsenal.
Impact This is a good sign for Cooper, who was a late scratch last weekend with an unknown issue. If he can't start, Pascal Struijk would likely get the call again, but it appears like Cooper will be ready to make the XI in a tough trip to Arsenal.
MAY 6, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Scratched against Man City Cooper was a late scratch from the starting XI for Saturday's match against Manchester City.
Impact Cooper must've pulled up with an injury in warmups, which isn't a great start for Leeds against Man City. Mateusz Klich replaced him in the XI, which likely meant that Jesse Marsch had to change up his formation or move some other players around.
APRIL 30, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Busy on return Cooper (hamstring) made his return to the starting XI and played 90 minutes during Saturday's one-all draw with Southampton.
Impact Cooper made his return from a hamstring injury that sidelined him since Dec. 5th, and made four interceptions and seven clearances during Saturday's draw. The defender was able to play the full 90, a great sign for the health of his hamstring. Cooper will hope to be back in the starting XI, in central defense, against Watford next time out.

MARCH 31, 2022 • THEATHLETIC.COM
Available to face Wolves Cooper (hamstring) is back in full training and ready to face Wolverhampton on Friday, according to manager Jesse Marsch.
Impact Cooper has probably been training about a week now, but he's been out since Dec. 5, so it's not a given that he'll be back in the starting XI Friday. He's still not completely out of the woods yet from injury and it may be best to wait until after the international break to get him major time.
MARCH 17, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Edging closer to return Cooper (hamstring) was in training Tuesday and is making good progress, according to manager Jesse Marsch.
Impact It's a positive update on Cooper, who has been out since Dec. 5 with a hamstring injury. There's a chance he's available before the international break, but given his lengthy absence, it's hard to see him getting a start in the next few matches.
MARCH 9, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Still dealing with injury Cooper (hamstring) is still out and doesn't have a timetable to return.
Impact Cooper has already missed 10 Premier League games since suffering a hamstring injury in early December, and although he and Kalvin Phillips were expected to return in early March, Marcelo Bielsa said Friday that "How they are right now doesn't seem like that will be the case."
