Lewis Dunk sent off for denying Anthony Elanga scoring chance ' Premier League
FEBRUARY 15, 2022 • YOUTUBE
Sent off against Man United Dunk was sent off with a straight red card in the 54th minutes of Tuesday's match against Manchester United.
Impact Dunk clumsily lost the ball as the last man back and then he took down Anthony Elanga, which led to a straight red card following a VAR check. It wasn't a great move by Dunk and now Brighton will be down to Shane Duffy and Adam Webster at center-back for upcoming matches. It's not a great situation, as they haven't added anyone following the transfers of Ben White and Dan Burn.

Back in squad Sunday Dunk (knee) is on the bench for Sunday's match against Leicester City.
Impact Dunk returns to the side Sunday after a multi-month absence with a knee injury. He isn't starting given the lengthy layoff, but the good news is that he'll be an option again following the international break.
JANUARY 23, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Late test for Sunday Dunk (knee) has been training and will be a late test for Sunday's trip to Leicester, according to assistant manager Billy Reid.
Impact Dunk has been out since early December, so it's hard to see him being ready to start Sunday without much training. The good news is that he's getting back to health and if all goes well, he should regain full fitness over the break and be an option to start in a couple weeks.
JANUARY 21, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Training, still out Dunk (knee) is back in training but needs more work before he's ready to play, according to manager Graham Potter.
Impact Dunk will only have a couple days of training ahead of Tuesday's match against Chelsea, so there's no reason to think he'll be ready to start. His return will be a boost for Brighton's back line, which has recently gone to a four-man group with Dan Burn at center-back, something Webster's return would change.

Hoping to train soon Dunk (knee) is hoping to train by Sunday and be an option next Tuesday against Chelsea, according to manager Graham Potter.
Impact It's hard to see Dunk starting Tuesday on only a day or two of training, so he's more likely to be an option to start for the Jan. 23 contest. He hasn't played since early December and needs to get back his complete fitness before he's in the XI again.

Facing mid-to-late January return Dunk (knee) is not expected back until mid-to-late January. Manager Graham Potter told reporters, "With Lewis Dunk we're looking at him returning between the middle and end of Janu...
Impact Based on the manager's timeline, Dunk figures to miss the next three clashes at a minimum, though it could certainly be longer. While the defender should be a near-lock for the starting XI once fit, he is unlikely to offer more than mid-range fantasy value given his lack of offensive upside.
DECEMBER 23, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Out rest of year Dunk will be out the rest of December with a knee injury suffered last week, reports The Athletic.
Impact This is a tough blow for Brighton, as they're already dealing with other injuries and it's the busiest time of the season. Dunk has been a regular on the back line the past five years and will need to be replaced. It wouldn't be surprising if Graham Potter turned to a four-man back line to adjust to his available players.

Out with knee injury Dunk is not in the squad for Saturday's match against Southampton because of a knee injury.
Impact Dunk had started every match of the season for Brighton until Saturday, which means a return to the XI for Dan Burn. It's a wonder if the change in the back line will hurt Brighton, who have allowed goals in each of their last three away matches.

Back in training Dunk was pictured in training Thursday after dealing with a minor injury the last couple weeks.
Impact Dunk is back with the team and should have a full week of training in before the Aug. 14 opener against Burnley. After missing a couple friendlies, it looks like he'll be ready for the start of the season and he'll be needed without Ben White to partner him on the back line.
AUGUST 5, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with minor injury Dunk missed Saturday's friendly with an undisclosed injury and is a doubt for the next friendly on July 31, according to manager Graham Potter.
Impact Potter didn't describe the injury, but if it's holding Dunk out multiple friendlies, it's something to monitor with the season three weeks ahead. The center-back has started at least 33 matches each of the last four seasons and needs to be 100 percent at the start of the campaign to hit that number again.
JULY 26, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Keeps spot on back line Dunk scored five goals and secured 11 clean sheets in 33 starts this season with his lone absences being from two red cards.
Impact Dunk has been a rock for Brighton over the years and there's no reason for him to lose this role, especially when he's adding goals. He finished with 32 shots and 10 chances created, numbers that aren't often seen from center-backs, though it's hard to see him matching the five goals scored again. The question is what Brighton will do on their back line with a healthy Solomon March and Tariq Lamptey next season.
