Back in starting lineup Sargeant (lower body) has made the starting lineup Saturday against Los Angeles Galaxy.

Impact Sargeant is San Diego's first-choice left-back, and his return to the initial formation is natural following a short recover period from his injury. On the other hand, Luca Bombino will now see a reduced role as long as Sargeant remains healthy. The fit-again player will look to contribute through passes and tackles as he attempts to bounce back from an erratic campaign.

Suffers lower body injury Sergeant has been ruled out for an undisclosed period due to a lower body discomfort, per the MLS injury report.

Impact Sergeant is a young wide defender who has established himself in San Diego's starting lineup lately, so his injury could be a significant setback for a squad that may now rely on Luca Bombino at left-back. Sargeant's recovery timeline remains to be revealed, so it's unclear when he'll be able to produce again. He previously tallied one assist along with 12 crosses, 17 tackles, 10 interceptions and 10 clearances over 12 MLS appearances this year.

Four tackles against Colorado Sargeant generated one cross (zero accurate) and six tackles in Wednesday's 1-0 defeat to Colorado Rapids.

Impact Sargeant delivered one of San Diego's most complete individual performances in Wednesday's 1-0 defeat at Colorado, registering three interceptions and four tackles across 90 minutes as the left-back who was his side's most defensively reliable player throughout the match. The American left-back's defensive intensity, ability to win the ball consistently and intelligent positioning make him one of the most dependable defensive options in San Diego's squad.

First assist of season Sargeant assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-3 draw against FC Cincinnati.

Impact Sargeant played a direct creative role in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Cincinnati, providing the assist for Marcus Ingvartsen's first-half equalizer before being replaced at halftime as manager Mikey Varas adjusted his side's shape against Cincinnati's increasingly dangerous transitions. The American left-back operates as an overlapping full-back who contributes regularly in the final third while also offering defensive stability on the left side of San Diego's back four. Sargeant has now recorded one assist across seven MLS appearances this season.

Impact Sargeant missed the last four MLS matches after making three starts at left-back early in the campaign, but it's still unclear if he'll regain a significant role right away. If he eventually challenges Luca Bombino for a starting spot, he could have some defensive value, although San Diego have struggled to keep their goal unbeaten lately.

Out with injury Sargeant Vilsaint is out for the time being due to a lower-body injury, according to the MLS injury report.

Impact Sargeant will not be with the club for the time being after suffering a lower-body injury, keeping the club without their left-back for a match or two. That said, this will force a change, with Luca Bombino likely to move to left-back while Oscar Verhoeven takes over at right-back.
