Returns from loan
Darlow returned to Newcastle after his loan to Hull City expired.
Impact
Darlow was a backup option with The Tigers, making just 12 appearances and conceding 14 goals while keeping five clean sheets. With Martin Dubravka, Nick Pope and Loris Karius all higher on the depth chart Darlow will likely target another loan, or a permanent move away from Newcastle.

ROTOWIRE
Back in squad
Darlow (ankle) has rejoined the squad and will be available off the bench ahead of Saturday's matchup with Leeds United.
Impact
Darlow's return isn't going to impact the starting XI considering starter Nick Pope currently leads the Premier League with eight clean sheets. As such, Darlow will be a relative non-factor in fantasy contests for the rest of the season.

Misses match Monday
Darlow was not in Newcastle's match day squad for Monday's draw against Manchester United because of an undisclosed reason.
Impact
Darlow was likely out with COVID-19 as Newcastle's clash against Everton on Thursday has now been postponed. This hasn't been confirmed by the club, but he should be considered a doubt for Sunday's game against Southampton if he indeed has contracted the virus. Freddie Woodman would likely continue as the backup goalkeeper to Martin Dubravka while Darlow isn't available.

Concedes three goals
Darlow conceded three goals and made one save in Saturday's 3-3 draw between Newcastle and Brentford. He also made three clearances.
Impact
Darlow could've done a bit more on the first goal, but he had nothing to do in the other two strikes. The 31-year-old goalkeeper has yet to keep a clean sheet in eight starts and has allowed two or more goals in four of those contests.

Makes four saves in draw
Darlow made four saves and allowed one goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Brighton & Hove Albion.
Impact
Darlow had a positive outing as he made four saves and only allowed one goal on a penalty kick. The keeper has now failed to keep a clean sheet in each of his last three appearances, but he has managed to rack up nine saves and allowed five goals in the same time span.

Simply overpowered
Darlow made three saves during Saturday's 3-0 loss to Chelsea.
Impact
Darlow wasn't bad Saturday, but when you give Chelsea six big chances it's not realistic to keep the ball out of the net. Darlow was let down by the team in front of him, but should have a better chance Saturday, away to Brighton.

Concedes goal again
Darlow conceded one goal during a 1-1 draw Saturday against Crystal Palace.
Impact
Darlow conceded at least one goal during each of his last five league appearances. He continues not playing well enough to be considered a good option over Martin Dubravka.

Poor vs. Wolves
Darlow made one save during Saturday's 2-1 loss to Wolves.
Impact
Darlow faced only three shots but failed to stop more than one during Saturday's loss. The keeper has been decent since returning from injury, but certainly has done nothing to cement his place in the goal.

Getting first start of season
Darlow is in the starting XI for Friday's match against Leeds.
Impact
Darlow is back in the XI Friday after a rough bout with COVID-19. He was on the bench last week and now takes the spot of Freddie Woodman, who had a rough few matches to open the season. In 25 starts last campaign, Darlow managed four clean sheets and allowed 43 goals, seven of those against Leeds

Could be option Saturday
Darlow (COVID-19) has trained over the last 10 days and could be an option to start Saturday against Manchester United, according to manager Steve Bruce.
Impact
This is great news for Darlow and Newcastle after the goalkeeper was forced to miss the first month of the season because of COVID-19. As long as he's ready, it's expected he'll be in the starting XI, taking the spot of Freddie Woodman.

Still battling COVID-19
Darlow continues to battle the aftereffects of COVID-19 and remains out, according to manager Steve Bruce.
Impact
Newcastle have had a few guys miss extended periods due to COVID-19 and Darlow is now on that list. It's unknown when he'll be an option again because he's now been out for almost a month with COVID-19, meaning he probably won't be an option until after the international break due to a lack of training. If that's the case, Freddie Woodman should get at least two more starts in net.

ROTOWIRE
Unlikely for opener
Darlow is still battling the aftereffects of COVID-19 and is unlikely for Sunday's opener against West Ham, according to manager Steve Bruce.
Impact
Darlow has yet to return to full training, so this was expected to be the case. It's an unfortunate situation since Darlow would be getting the start, as Martin Dubravka is not ready to play. Instead, youngster Freddie Woodman will open in net for Newcastle on Sunday.

Back with team
Darlow returned to "light" training Wednesday, according to the team's goalkeeping coach.
Impact
Darlow has about 10 days to get back his fitness and into match shape, which shouldn't be a problem. He may appear in the team's next friendly and if that doesn't happen, Freddie Woodman has a slight chance to start the Aug. 15 opener in his place.

Recovering from COVID-19 at home
Darlow is recovering from COVID-19 at home after being sent to the hospital after becoming increasingly dehydrated, reports Sky Sports.
Impact
The good news is that Darlow is getting better, but it's unknown when he'll be able to train again. With three weeks to go before the season, there's no guarantee he'll be ready for the Aug. 15 opener, pointing to a possible start for Mark Gillespie. As a positive, Darlow seems to be over a knee injury suffered in April, as the injury has been seldom mentioned since he tested positive for COVID-19.

Impact
Darlow is one of a number of Newcastle players to struggle with COVID-19 during the pandemic and all one can do is wait for his health to improve. While there's still time ahead of the Premier League's opening weekend, Darlow will need more time to build up his fitness before the Aug. 15 game against West Ham.
