Impact Rasmussen was active going forward from left-back on Saturday, but it wasn't enough to salvage a result against the defending MLS champions LAFC. Rasmussen has started both of Portland's opening games of the campaign over Claudio Bravo, who's working his way back from a hamstring injury.

Impact Rasmussen suffered an adductor injury in late August that ended his 2022 campaign, but even before the injury he hadn't featured in a league match since May. Impact Rasmussen made his season debut after being an unused substitute on the previous two matches and was wherever his side needed him to be here. The left back made a lot of plays from the flank but also provided some important defensive support when the opposition made a final push in search of a game-tying goal. Claudio Bravo will be back from suspension for Saturday's visit to Dallas, but Rasmussen showed that he's more than ready to fill in.
