Nets brace Hofmann scored two goals to go with seven shots (five on goal), six crosses (three accurate), and eight corners in Saturday's 3-0 victory against RB Leipzig.

Impact Hofmann scored twice as Monchengladbach blew away Leipzig. The striker was off to a slow start before Saturday's match but exploded for five chances created and seven shots in the rout. Hofmann put up 17 goal contributions in each of the last two campaigns and has shown the scoring touch to reach those numbers once more in 2022/23.

Impact Hofmann filled the stat sheet but had the chance to add a goal from the penalty spot. He was denied by Oliver Christensen who seemed to have Hofmann's number throughout Friday's match. With only the single goal so far in the first three matches Hofmann will hope to find some more offensive contributions going forward.

In his past five appearances, he is averaging, 2.6 shots, 2.8 created chances, 5.8 crosses, 3.6 corners and 0.4 tackles per 90 minutes in all competitions.

Set to have knee surgery Hofmann will undergo a minor surgery on his knee this week, Gladbach announced Monday. He will be out until the new year.

Impact Hofmann was subbed out of Saturday's defeat against Leipzig with a knee injury in the second half, and he's now set to miss Gladbach's final two games of 2021 as he recovers from a minor surgery. Christoph Kramer, Florian Neuhaus and Laszlo Benes could all potentially fill in for Hofmann in midfield until he's ready to return in January at the earliest.
