Impact Mendez made 11 MLS appearances (just one start) for LAFC after arriving via trade from Orlando City in July as the 25-year-old is buried down the midfield depth chart for the 2022 champions. He started two games at the World Cup for Ecuador before missing the group stage finale with a yellow card suspension, but he will become a free agent this winter if no new deal is agreed upon with his club.
