Dealt to Austin
Nelson was traded to Austin from Vancouver for $1.25 million GAM and the 17th overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft.
Impact
Nelson had a bit of a breakout with Vancouver last season, scoring twice and adding five assists in 28 appearances (16 starts.) New signings on the wing meant he spent most of the playoffs on the bench, so Vancouver decided to deal him. Nelson should compete for immediate starting minutes in Austin.

Joining with Canada
Nelson is joining up with Canada and is out for Saturday's trip to Orlando.
Impact
Nelson isn't going to be an option against Orlando while he's away with Canada for national team duty. The forward has been on the bench more often than not recently, but with other wing options out his absence could prompt a change in formation. Nelson should be back for the regular season finale and the playoffs.

Single shot Wednesday
Nelson generated one shot (zero on goal) in Wednesday's 1-1 draw versus Portland Timbers.
Impact
Nelson took a single shot Wednesday, but failed to really get much done during the match. He's been inconsistent, but shown upside at times throughout the campaign. Nelson offers something going forward in a strong attacking unit, but he's largely been rotational. Nelson could see an increased role as Vancouver look to rest and get fit for the playoffs.

Assists opening goal in 3-0 win
Nelson assisted once to go with four shots (one on goal), six crosses (zero accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 3-0 win over Sporting Kansas City.
Impact
Nelso assisted his fifth goal of the season to combine with Emmanuel Sabbi to score the first goal of the game. He started in back-to-back games for the first time since May. He also attempted four shots and created four chances. He hasn't taken more than four shots in a game this season and has only created more than four chances once this year.

Will represent Canada
Nelson has been called up by Canada for the friendly games against Ukraine and Ivory Coast on June 7 and June 11, respectively.
Impact
Nelson has been a regular starting in the frontline for Vancouver this season but due to the call-up, he will miss the match against Seattle on Sunday. He should return in time to face Columbus on June 14. His absence will therefore impact the starting XI, with Damir Kreilach expected to replace him on the left wing on Sunday.

Four shots in draw
Nelson generated four shots (one on goal), four crosses (one accurate) and three chances created in Wednesday's 0-0 draw against Minnesota United.
Impact
Nelson was one of Vancouver's most active attackers, recording four shot attempts during the match, equalizing his season high. His best chance came in the 80th minute when he received a pass from Brian White and unleashed a right-footed shot that was expertly saved by Dayne St. Clair. Nelson's pace and creativity consistently challenged Minnesota's defense with three chances created and four crosses, both being his second-highest marks of the season.

Nets in win
Nelson scored one goal to go with four shots (one on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and two corners in Saturday's 2-1 win against Real Salt Lake.
Impact
Nelson got back on the scoresheet during Saturday's win over Salt Lake. The winger has been excellent since joining Vancouver and continues to be a major part of the attack. With the winger shining the injuries to other top attacking options have been less of an issue, and they've allowed Nelson more chances to start.

Features off bench in CONCACAF
Nelson (hamstring) featured off the bench in Thursday's 2-0 victory over Inter Miami in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, confirming he has fully recovered from his injury.
Impact
Nelson was expected to be back on Thursday and featured for eight minutes at the end of the game, making his return from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the previous three matches. That said, he will likely find a starting spot in the coming games after building his fitness gradually.
