Impact Stephans will miss yet another two matches due to his sending-off a few weeks ago against Manchester United, with the defender having been handed a further two-match ban to bring his total games missed due to the suspension to five. Jack Stephens sent off for reckless challenge on Alejandro Garnacho | Premier League
SEPTEMBER 14, 2024 • YOUTUBE
Sent off Saturday Stephens was sent off during the second half of Saturday's clash with Manchester United.
Impact Stephens was shown a straight red card and sent off during Saturday's clash. The defender has been a constant in the starting XI since rejoining Saints, and will now be set for a spell on the sideline. Stephens will miss three matches via suspension, setting him up to return for an Oct. 5 trip to Arsenal.
SEPTEMBER 14, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Rejoining Saints Stephens will be back with Southampton following the end of his loan move to Bournemouth.
Impact Stephens played in 15 matches (13 on target) for Bournemouth, generating 53 clearances, 16 interceptions and 16 blocks. Given his offensive limitations, the central defender won't offer much in the way of fantasy production except in the form of defensive stats.
JUNE 7, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Eligible once more Stephens is eligible to return for a Sunday clash with Leeds after missing out against Southampton due to being loan-locked.
Impact Stephens was ineligible to play against his parent club, pushing Marcos Senesi into the starting XI. Now that Stephens is eligible once more he should have no issues moving straight back into the starting XI and taking major minutes in central defense.
APRIL 27, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out against parent club Stephens is unavailable for Thursday's match against Southampton, his parent club.
Impact Stephens has been a regular for Bournemouth since joining on loan, starting the last 11 matches. Unfortunately, he won't be helping against Southampton, a team sitting at the bottom of the table that didn't give Stephens many minutes. It's likely Marcos Senesi will return to the back line for Thursday's match.
APRIL 26, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
11 clearances in strong performance Stephens performed 11 clearances, three blocked shots and two tackles in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Wolves.
Impact Stephens put in an impressive defensive performance on Saturday as he effectively neutralized Wolves attacks and racked up a rich set of fantasy points. The Southampton loanee has made eight appearances (four starts) and contributed to two clean sheets.
FEBRUARY 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Starting against Newcastle Stephens is fit and in the starting XI for Saturday's match against Newcastle.
Impact Stephens returns after missing out on last week's match against Brighton with a calf injury. The defender has helped Bournemouth keep one clean sheet in four appearances.
FEBRUARY 11, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with calf issue Stephens was not in the squad for Saturday's loss against Brighton because of a calf injury, according to manager Gary O'Neil.
Impact This doesn't seem like a serious injury, as it was suffered at some point in the Jan. 21 match when Stephens went 90 minutes. It was bad enough to hold him out Saturday, so more time on the sideline could be possible. He's struggled for minutes this season with just two starts and an injury won't help playing time.
FEBRUARY 6, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Staying with Southampton Stephens signed a new contract with Southampton during the season, keeping him at the club.
Impact Stephens saw his role decrease this past season en route to just nine starts, so there's a chance the deal he signed is only one or two years. His peak with the club was maybe 2019/20 when he made 27 starts, but with Mohammed Salisu and Lyanco both ahead of him on the depth chart, he doesn't figure to have a bigger role next season.
JUNE 10, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Returns in FA Cup win Stephens (COVID-19) started and went the full 90 in Saturday's FA Cup win against Swansea.
Impact Stephens is again an option for Southampton after missing the last three matches because of COVID-19. He hasn't been completely healthy since September, so it's unknown what kind of role he'll have the next few weeks, though he started the first five matches of the season.
JANUARY 9, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Back in training Stephens (COVID-19) returned to training a week before the Jan. 11 contest against Brentford.
Impact Stephens should again be an option for the next match after missing the last three contests, two of them for a known COVID-19 issue. However, because of his knee injury, he has just one appearance since September, so he may take extra time to get back to fitness. When healthy, he started the first five matches this season.
JANUARY 5, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Tests positive for COVID-19 Stephens tested positive for COVID-19 and will likely miss the team's next two matches.
Impact Stephens recently returned from a knee injury and then wasn't in the squad for the Palace match 10 days ago, so there's a chance he tested positive for COVID-19 before that. Stephens may be an option Tuesday, but that seems like a stretch for now.
DECEMBER 26, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Back in squad Saturday Stephens (knee) is on the bench for Saturday's match against Brighton.
Impact Saturday probably comes too early for a start for Stephens, but he's on the bench, which is a good sign for his health. If all goes well in the coming week, there's a chance he'll replace Lyanco in the starting XI next match, if not Mohamed Salisu.
DECEMBER 4, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Could be option against Brighton Stephens (knee) is building fitness and could be an option for Saturday's match against Brighton.
Impact Stephens would likely take the spot of Jan Bednarek in the starting XI if ready to go, but Lyanco is also an option. Stephens hasn't played since September because of this injury, so he may not be ready for a full 90 just yet.
DECEMBER 3, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Unlikely to play Saturday Stephens (knee) is doubtful to get onto the pitch against Liverpool on Saturday. Manager Ralph Hasen Hasenhuttl told reporters, "Jack is back in training which is the first week in...
Impact The fact that Stephens is training and is even in consideration versus Liverpool is certainly a significant step in his recovery. Even if the defender is named to the match-day squad, he will likely be held in reserve for a week or two given his lengthy injury absence but should factor into the starting XI once back up to full match fitness.
NOVEMBER 25, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to training Stephens (knee) returned to training with Southampton on Tuesday.
Impact Stephens has missed the last two months since suffering a knee injury against Man City on Sept. 18, but he is getting closer to his return.
NOVEMBER 23, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Out up to three months Stephens could be out up to three months after injuring the tendon in his knee over the weekend, according to manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Impact The injury didn't look good upon occurrence and now the bad news is out. Stephens will likely be out until December, which means Jan Bednarek and Mohammed Salisu will be called upon together with Lyanco possibly getting some time as he works up his fitness. Stephens had started the first five league matches of the season.
SEPTEMBER 22, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Leaves injured Saturday Stephens was forced off in the first half with a possible knee injury in Saturday's match against Manchester City.
Impact Stephens fell down after a non-contact injury and grabbed the back of his knee, usually a bad sign. The hope is that it's nothing serious, but if he's forced to miss time, Mohamed Salisu and Jan Bednarek are likely to start together.
SEPTEMBER 18, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Three starts so far Stephens has started all three games for Southampton in the new season.
Impact Stephens has been locked into a starting role for Southampton thus far playing every minute of every game. The defender has the second highest amount of tackles and clearances on the team through three games.
