Extends contract with Philadelphia
Elliott has signed a three-year contract extension with the Union with the option to further extend for an additional year, the club announced Tuesday.
Impact
Elliott has spent five years with the Union since they drafter him out of college in 2017, and he has just signed on with the club through 2024 at least. He kept 13 clean sheets in 35 MLS starts last season and will be ready to marshal Philadelphia's defense alongside Jakob Glesnes next season.

Elliott was not in Philadelphia's match day squad in last weekend's Eastern Conference Final defeat against NYCFC as he was in the league's health and safety protocols.
Impact
Elliot missed only two MLS games this season, a defeat to New England in early September and last weekend's Eastern Conference Final. The 26-year-old kept 13 clean sheets and posted two goals and an assist in 35 games, and he has formed a strong central defense pair with Jakob Glesnes.

Keeps clean sheet in win
Elliott made two blocks, five clearances and an interception in Saturday's 1-0 Round One victory against the Red Bulls. He also won two of five tackles in the match.
Impact
Elliott was immense in defense as it took an amazing 123rd-minute strike from his center back partner Jakob Glesnes to avoid penalty kicks in Saturday's playoff game against New York. He will either face No. 3 Nashville (which have scored 55 goals this season) or No. 6 Orlando City (50 goals) in the Eastern Conference semifinals next weekend.

Scores own goal
Elliott scored an own goal in Wednesday's draw against Toronto FC.
Impact
Elliott was unfortunate to bag a goal into his own net, and that ended being decisive for the outcome of the match. The defender has been a steady presence at the back for the Union, however, and he should remain in the starting lineup going forward.

One goal shy of double digits
Elliott scored once, took one shot (one on target), made two tackles (one won) and intercepted twice during the 3-0 win over Columbus on Sunday.
Impact
Elliott was average in terms of defense in the win Sunday. The center-back did what was asked of him and not much more. However, he did happen to take a set-piece and get the bounces needed to score his second goal of the season. If you are in need of clearances this guy is a great option. Otherwise, he gathers all other peripherals here and there.
