Scores against Inter Ilic took one shot on target, sent in two accurate crosses, created one chance and scored a goal in Friday's 1-3 loss to Inter.

Impact Ilic broke the deadlock in the early going by intercepting an errant pass by Samir Handanovic and chipping it over the goalie after gliding between two defenders. He replaced the suspended Miguel Veloso in this one, and he has good chances to leapfrog the veteran teammate going forward. Verona will visit Bologna after the break.

Heads back to Verona Ilic has agreed to a five-year contract with Verona, which signed him on a permanent deal from Manchester City, the club announced.

Impact Ilic returns to Serie A after a solid 2020/2021 season, where he tallied two goals, 17 chances created, 39 crosses and 26 tackles in 29 appearances (19 starts). His role should be similar in the upcoming campaign despite the coaching chance. He should continue to alternate and occasionally pair up with the aging Miguel Veloso.
