Christantus Uche - Set for knee surgery Uche (knee) will need surgery after further tests confirmed multiple ligament and meniscus tears in his right knee, according to Alvaro Ramos of Diario AS.

Impact Uche was hurt Thursday during Getafe's friendly against Monaco when Christian Mawissa's violent tackle in the 78th minute twisted his right leg, causing severe damage that resulted in Mawissa's immediate red card. An MRI revealed tears to the ACL, LCL and meniscus, a far more serious diagnosis than the initial kneecap contusion report from the club. He is expected to miss nearly all of the 2026-27 season as a result. Uche made 14 Premier League appearances totaling 159 minutes during a loan spell at Crystal Palace before returning to Getafe this summer, where he had been projected as a regular starter, making this a significant blow for the club heading into the new campaign.
