Christantus Uche - Set for knee surgery Uche (knee) will need surgery after further tests confirmed multiple ligament and meniscus tears in his right knee, according to Alvaro Ramos of Diario AS.
Impact Uche was hurt Thursday during Getafe's friendly against Monaco when Christian Mawissa's violent tackle in the 78th minute twisted his right leg, causing severe damage that resulted in Mawissa's immediate red card. An MRI revealed tears to the ACL, LCL and meniscus, a far more serious diagnosis than the initial kneecap contusion report from the club. He is expected to miss nearly all of the 2026-27 season as a result. Uche made 14 Premier League appearances totaling 159 minutes during a loan spell at Crystal Palace before returning to Getafe this summer, where he had been projected as a regular starter, making this a significant blow for the club heading into the new campaign.

Orel Mangala - Loaned to Getafe Mangala joined Getafe on loan without an option to buy through the end of the season, the club announced.
Impact Mangala joined Lyon in January 2024 from Nottingham Forest and made 27 appearances across all competitions with the club, remaining under contract through June 2028 despite the move. He's expected to line up alongside Ramon Terrats in central midfield at Getafe, where he'll look to gain regular playing time during his loan spell in Spain.

Kiko Femenia - Forced off late Femenia (undisclosed) was forced off in the 88th minute of Thursday's 1-0 loss to Monaco after showing apparent discomfort, unable to complete the final stretch of the match, accor...
Impact Femenia's latest setback raises some concern given he already dealt with a muscular pinch during the club's first preseason friendly against Reading, an issue that forced him off in the 57th minute before he was later able to return to action. Without medical confirmation, it cannot yet be established whether the two episodes are connected, and his presence at the next training session should offer more clarity on the severity of this new problem. If he had to miss the start of the season, newcomer Andres Garcia could be the one playing on the right flank in his spot.

Andres Garcia - Plays one half in return Garcia (undisclosed) played one half of Thursday's 1-0 friendly loss to Monaco, the club posted.
Impact Garcia had been withdrawn early in an earlier preseason friendly against Reading due to a muscular issue, so his return to action for a half of play is an encouraging sign that the setback was not serious. He made just eight appearances in all competitions for Villa last season before his loan move, and his workload should continue to build as Getafe progresses through the rest of preseason.

Christantus Uche - Diagnosed with knee contusion Uche was diagnosed with a contusion to the kneecap of his right leg, sustained from a blow during the friendly game against Monaco, with further tests needed to determine the full...
Impact Uche made 14 Premier League appearances totaling 159 minutes during a loan spell at Crystal Palace, contributing six shots and two chances created without a goal or assist, before returning to Getafe this summer. His clinical progression will determine his availability going forward, and further updates on the severity of the issue should come as additional testing is completed. This is a blow for Getafe since Uche is expected to be a regular starter for the team heading into the 2026/27 season.
