On bench to face Dynamo
Pilcher (lower body) is among the substitutes for Wednesday's contest versus Houston Dynamo.
Impact
Pilcher should be able to see some action after missing four league games due to injury. He previously started once at right-back, so he could be used in Oscar Verhoeven's place. Pilcher has yet to score or assist this year while recording two clearances and one tackle across 47 minutes of play.

Impact
Pilcher may be an option in the next few weeks after making progress in his recovery from an injury that has sidelined him for three weeks. The defender has made only one start this season, and he could be in contention with Oscar Verhoeven for the right-back spot as soon as he's fully healthy.

Continues on sidelines
Pilcher is out for the time being due to a lower-body injury, according to the MLS injury report.
Impact
Pilcher is out once again as he deals with an injury, already missing the game before the break. Luckily, the club can do without him, as he has only started once all season. Oscar Verhoeven should remain the starting right-back moving forward, either way.

Contract option picked up
Pilcher's contract option has been exercised, the club announced.
Impact
Pilcher will remain with San Diego for an additional season after that his contract option was picked up. The defender was mostly a rotational option last season with San Diego as he started 13 of his 22 MLS appearances and is expected to regain a similar role heading into the 2026 MLS season. Last year he contributed one goal, one assist, 65 clearances and 17 tackles in 22 games.

Provides assist against Minnesota
Pilcher assisted once to go with one chance created in Saturday's 4-2 win over Minnesota United.
Impact
Pilcher set up Anders Dreyer's long-distance strike after 11 minutes of the weekend clash. It was the center-back's first direct contribution in just five appearances during the current campaign. While that might help his chances of retaining the starting spot, it's rather subject to the return of Paddy McNair (lower body), who should be preferred when fit.
