Finishes loan
Slonina returned to Chelsea after finishing his loan spell with KAS Eupen.
Impact
Slonina's loan to Belgium was productive, he made 28 appearances and conceded 56 goals while holding onto a major role. The goalkeeper likely has no path to playing time with Chelsea for the 2024/25 campaign, but he should be able to work towards another loan in the coming months.

Training with Chelsea
Slonina has begun training with his new side Chelsea.
Impact
Slonina has arguably been MLS's most-hyped prospect over the last 18 months or so, and the 18-year-old seems ready to begin a new challenge in the Premier League with Chelsea. There are two top goalkeepers ahead of him in the depth chart in Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy, and veteran Marcus Bettinelli is likely ahead of him at the moment as well. It should take some time before Slonina starts seeing minutes with the senior team unless he goes out on-loan first.

Out for season finale
Slonina (head) is not in Chicago's match day squad for Sunday's Decision Day clash against the Revolution.
Impact
Slonina has been ruled out for Sunday's game with a head injury, meaning he ends the season with 12 clean sheets and 45 goals allowed in 32 MLS games. The 18-year-old is set to link up with Chelsea in January, so he may have already played his final game for the Fire.

Fitness test for finale
Slonina (head) is listed as questionable in Chicago's injury report for Sunday's clash against the Revolution.
Impact
Slonina missed last weekend's win over FC Cincinnati with a head injury, and he will be a game time call for Decision Day on Sunday as well. This is scheduled to be the 18-year-old's final MLS game before heading out to Chelsea in January, though it is possible he gets sent on another loan season with the Fire in order to continue his development.

Won't play Saturday
Slonina will miss Saturday's match against FC Cincinnati due to a head injury.
Impact
Slonina may have picked up a concussion in training and will be unavailable for the second-to-last contest of the season. That leaves him with one more game as a sendoff before he joins Chelsea next season, and either Spencer Richey could face his former club or another young option in Chris Brady could play during Saturday's game.

Concedes three in tough loss
Slonina made three saves (three goals conceded) and added one clearance in Sunday's 3-2 loss against Charlotte FC.
Impact
This was a disappointing result for Slonina, who looked solid to start this fixture. As the game went along however, Charlotte were able to break down Chicago's back line, and Slonina just couldn't manage to steal his side a point. Given that Fire are now mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, it will be wise to keep a close eye on the starting XI for the remainder of the year.

Concedes three in loss
Slonina grabbed two saves (three goals conceded) and logged one clearance in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to CF Montreal.
Impact
As expected, Slonina experienced heavy traffic from the potent Montreal attack, which took full advantage of a depleted Fire defense. Although he looked rather solid throughout the evening, he was in no position to stop any of Montreal's three tallies. The 18-year-old phenom keeper has been a lone bright spot for a Chicago squad that has likely been eliminated from postseason contention.

Three stops in loss
Slonina made three saves and conceded two goals in Sunday's 2-0 loss to NYCFC.
Impact
Slonina had no chance to save either of NYCFC's goals in this one. He did, however, keep his side in the match by smartly saving likely goals in the 29th and 43rd minutes. Slonina remains locked in as Chicago's best keeper, and Fire will need him to continue playing well down the stretch run if they wish to obtain a postseason bid.

Concedes four in loss
Slonina allowed four goals while making three saves in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Philadelphia Union.
Impact
Slonina looked tentative against the Eastern Conference's best squad and has now conceded six goals in his past two matches. Two of Philadelphia's four scores came off Fire turnovers, but the 18-year-old keeper also missed a few opportunities to keep his team competitive. Chicago was outclassed by Philadelphia for much of Saturday's tilt and will look to get back on track against NYCFC next weekend.

Three saves in Charlotte
Slonina had three saves Saturday (two goals allowed), and the Chicago Fire defeated Charlotte FC 3-2.
Impact
Slonina didn't have much of a chance to stop either of Charlotte's eventual goals. The first score allowed was the result of a defensive turnover within 60 seconds of kickoff. Nonetheless, the 18-year-old phenom did just enough for Chicago to pull out the victory and has allowed 30 goals in 24 appearances this season.
