Cardiff City news: Focus on Perry Ng, Gabriel Osho and Chris Willock fitness for Reading Cardiff City news: Focus on Perry Ng, Gabriel Osho and Chris Willock fitness for Reading
OCTOBER 10 • BBC.CO.UK
Solid first PL season Osho scored two goals and kept two clean sheets in 21 appearances (all starts) this past season.
Impact When he was healthy, Osho was a mainstay in central defense for Luton. He missed 17 matches due to various injuries but started all 21 matches he was healthy for. He helped his side keep two clean sheets and recorded 41 tackles, 31 interceptions, 88 clearances and 20 blocked shots, in addition to scoring two goals. His contract expires at the end of June, so the 25-year-old's future with relegated Luton is up in the air.
MAY 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Leads defensive effort Osho had three tackles (two won) and seven clearances in Saturday's 3-1 defeat versus West Ham United.
Impact Osho's seven clearances led Luton Town on Saturday but his defensive prowess was insufficient to stave off the West Ham attack as Luton Town fell 1-3. Osho also blocked one shot. Since returning from a knee injury, Oslo has started and played the full 90 minutes in four successive matches. In that time, he's made eight tackles (four won) and 20 clearances.
MAY 12, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Returns from knee injury Osho (knee) has returned to the starting XI for Saturday's clash with Brentford.
Impact Osho is back following a six match absence due to a knee injury suffered in March. The defender has started all 17 of his Premier League appearances and jumps right back into the starting XI now that he's fit.
APRIL 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Heavy doubt Saturday Osho (knee) remains a doubt for Saturday's match against Bournemouth after manager Rob Edwards failed to mention him in his press conference.
Impact There's only one player who could make his way back Saturday for Luton Town and Reece Burke seems most likely, as Osho has been out the last month with bruising on his knee. There's a chance this injury is a little worse than initially led on and while there's still a slight chance for Osho, he does seem more likely to miss out again Saturday rather than make the squad.
APRIL 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Still not on team sheet Osho (knee) is out for Wednesday's match against Arsenal.
Impact Osho will spend yet another match on the sidelines, now missing his fourth straight match since going down with a knee issue in early March. The defender is still monitored on a day-to-day basis, so we could see him return Saturday against Bournemouth.
APRIL 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Remains out with knee injury Osho (knee) is not in the squad for Saturday's match against Tottenham.
Impact Osho misses his third straight match as he continues to recover from a knee injury. The defender is a locked in starter when fit as Teden Mengi and Reece Burke partner in the heart of Luton's back four on Saturday.
MARCH 30, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Still has bruising on knee Osho is being monitored on a day-to-day basis due to bruising on his knee.
Impact Osho unfortunately doesn't seem to have improved over the break, as he still has bruising on his knee and is set to miss more matches. He's missed three of the last four league games with the injury and doesn't have a set timeline. Issa Kabore moved to center-back last match, though it could be Daiki Hashioka starting again coming out of the break.
MARCH 28, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Sidelined once again Osho (knee) won't play against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, manager Rob Edwards told Mike Simmonds of Luton Today. Edwards is looking to get him back in time for the trip to Tott...
Impact The Hatters are struggling with injuries on the defensive side of the ball, and Osho, who has been forced to withdraw from international duty with Nigeria due to this injury, will be sidelined for a second consecutive match. He's been a regular starter when healthy, however, so he is expected to be in contention for a starting role against the Spurs after the international break if his recovery progresses as expected.
MARCH 15, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Out for Bournemouth tilt Osho (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's match against Bournemouth, as manager Rob Edwards stated, "Teden should be ok but Gabe is unavailable, will have to see how it is goi...
Impact Osho will miss his first match with a hamstring issue after going down during the weekend against Crystal Palace with a knee issue. This will be a tough loss for the club, as they are already without Amari'i Bell, too, after he received season-ending hamstring surgery, with the defense being very low in depth at the moment. Osho will now hope for a decent week of recovery and to possibly return Saturday against Nottingham Forest, but it is more likely he won't be available again until after the international break against Tottenham on March 30.
MARCH 12, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Comes off with knee issue Osho (undisclosed) was forced off the pitch in the 81st minute of Saturday's match against Crytal Palace due to an apparent knee injury.
Impact Osho looks to be returning to the sidelines, as after returning from an undisclosed issue this week to face Crystal Palace, he was forced off in the same match due to a knee issue late on. This could be a brutal blow for the club if he misses any time, as they are now down all three of their regular starters at center-back, with Amari'i Bell (hamstring) and Teden Mengi (undisclosed) also being out. The club will now await testing, hoping the defender is only dealing with a minor issue. He was replaced by Cauley Woodrow.
MARCH 9, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Earns start Osho (undisclosed) is in the starting XI for Saturday's match against Crystal Palace.
Impact Osho is already set to make his return, only missing one match due to the undisclosed issues he picked up in training last week. The defender should be expected to remain in a starting role, as he has only missed out on a start this season when injured, notching 27 interceptions, 28 tackles and 66 clearances to go along with two goals in his 16 appearances.
MARCH 9, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Set for return Osho (strain) should be an option for Saturday's trip to Crystal Palace, according to manager Rob Edwards."It's been a muscular problem with Gabe and we're giving him as much time...
Impact Osho still is far less than fully fit but with the bevy of injuries elsewhere in the defense he may be called upon if at all fit. The defender could even be thrust into the starting XI, though based on what Edwards said that would be a major risk for the defender.
MARCH 8, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Picks up injury Osho is out for Saturday's clash with Aston Villa, manager Rob Edwards announced.
Impact Osho won't be an option Saturday, yet another defensive injury to add to the pile. Luton Town have been absolutely plagued by muscular injuries of late, so this is a less than welcome surprise. Osho has started and gone the full 90 in nine straight matches. Reece Burke should step into a larger role while Osho is on the sideline.
MARCH 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Scores in road draw Osho scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Saturday's 4-4 draw against Newcastle United. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 90th minute.
Impact Osho scored the 1-1 equalizer in the 21st minute with his second goal in the campaign. The centerback also led Luton in clearances as usual to help them earn one point on the road. He did receive his second yellow card in the proccess, though.
FEBRUARY 5, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Defensive enforcer in draw Osho had four tackles (four won), two clearances and two interceptions in Friday's 1-1 draw against Burnley.
Impact Osho delivered a critical defensive performance to help his squad hold on for the draw. His four tackles in the match mark a new season high and the first time this season that he was successful on every tackle attempt, when attempting at least three tackles. He also managed a minimum of two interceptions for his fifth consecutive appearance.
JANUARY 13, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Fit for Saturday Osho (undisclosed) is expected to be an option for Saturday's match versus Bournemouth.
Impact Osho had started his previous six matches at center back, totaling 36 clearances with a goal in that span. He could be in contention for a starting role Saturday, though with Tom Lockyer back from injury, seems to be that the defender will return to the bench unless Rob Edwards decides to switch things up in the back line for Luton Town.
DECEMBER 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out after run of starts Osho (undisclosed) is not in the squad to face Manchester City on Sunday.
Impact Osho misses out on Sunday's match after starting six straight contests for Luton. There was no mention of an injury in the buildup so it could be rest as Tom Lockyer returns to the starting XI.
DECEMBER 10, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Scores one in loss Osho scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Tuesday's 4-3 defeat to Arsenal.
Impact In what marked just his sixth appearance of the season, Osho tallied his first goal of the year, opening the scoring for his squad, in the 25th minute of play. Osho finished with three goals in 30 appearances last season and could reach a new high, if he can keep up the pace this year.

Playing with developmental squad Osho (knee) played 60 minutes during a 2-1 friendly loss to Notts County.
Impact Osho was deemed good to go and is now getting some youth team minutes to work on rebuilding his fitness. The defender has yet to make his Premier League debut but was a crucial part of the squad in the Championship. With Mads Juel Andersen (hamstring) and Amari'i Bell (hamstring) both suffering with injuries Osho could see some minutes in the first team sooner rather than later.
OCTOBER 24, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Ready for return Osho (knee) is ready to go for Saturday's trip to Nottingham Forest, Luton announced.
Impact Osho is set to get back on the pitch for Saturday's clash. It's a major boon for the backline, especially coming on the same day Mads Juel Andersen (hamstring) was ruled out for multiple months. Amari'i Bell (hamstring) is also out for Saturday's match meaning Osho could even be called upon to move immediately into the starting XI.
OCTOBER 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to training Osho (knee) was pictured in training over the October international break.
Impact Osho has been out since the summer with a knee injury, but it looks like he's edging closer and could be an option in the coming weeks. Having started 25 matches for the Hatters last season, he could immediately find a role given the lengthy injury list on the back line, though fitness is clearly a concern.
OCTOBER 11, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out again Friday Osho (knee) will not be available versus Chelsea on Friday.
Impact Osho continues to miss out due to his knee problem suffered during the preseason. Considering the defender started all but five of his 30 outings for the club last season, he should be in contention to claim a spot in the starting XI once given the all-clear.
AUGUST 25, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Doubt for opener Osho (knee) is set to miss the Premier League opener against Brighton, according to manager Rob Edwards."We really want to get them back quickly but we can't rush and it's frustrat...
Impact Osho is a heavy doubt for the opening match of the Premier League. The defender suffered the knee injury during pre-season and has been held back since. Osho will hope to return before an Aug. 19 clash with Burnley, though it's unclear if he will be fit to return then.
