Back in squad Marcal (undisclosed) is on the bench for Saturday's match against Brentford.
Impact Marcal is back in the team after missing last week's win and he's unfortunately on the bench. Toti Gomes is again at center-back and Rayan Ait-Nouri is on the wing, so Marcal remains the second choice at both positions for now.

Misses win against Southampton Marcal wasn't in the squad for Saturday's match against Southampton because of injury.
Impact Marcal was forced off in the club's last Cup match and the thought is that he suffered an injury then despite a lack of updates from Bruno Lage. He's the likely center-back replacement during AFCON, but Toti Gomes played well against Southampton and is expected to start again next match.
JANUARY 17, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Available to return to squad Marcal (COVID-19) has returned to training and will make the squad for Saturday's match against Manchester City, according to manager Bruno Lage.
Impact Marcal has moved to a bench role behind Rayan Ait-Nouri and while he's back from COVID-19, he'll likely remain on the bench. That said, as long as he can return to full fitness, it wouldn't be surprising if he got a start or two in the coming weeks given the heavy schedule ahead.
DECEMBER 10, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Tests positive for COVID-19 Marcal has tested positive for COVID-19, Wolves manager confirmed Wednesday.
Impact Marcal missed Wednesday's draw against Burnley, and he will be out for at least a week as he isolates. He hasn't featured for Wolves since mid-October after suffering a calf injury.
DECEMBER 2, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Back in training Marcal (calf) returned to training over the break ahead of Saturday's match against West Ham, according to manager Bruno Lage.
Impact Marcal has missed the last three matches with the injury, but it looks like he's ready to compete for a starting spot again. He started the first eight matches of the season, but there's a chance Rayan Ait-Nouri took his spot over the last three games, something that will be decided once Marcal is back to full health.
NOVEMBER 19, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with calf injury Marcal is dealing with a calf injury, and is slowly recovering, according to manager Bruno Lage.
Impact Marcal was replaced by Rayan Ait-Nouri due to a calf injury, and is working his way back to fitness. The defender is targeting a return after the international break, though calf injuries tend to linger. Ait-Nouri will continue to start as long as Marcal is out.
NOVEMBER 5, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Busy defensively Marcal made four tackles and four clearances during Saturday's 2-1 win over Newcastle.
Impact Marcal had plenty to do defensively, and did it well, putting together some solid volume in his best performance of the year. The wing-back has limited value in most matches with little offensive upside, but has a decent floor. He has a tough clash with Aston Villa after the international break.
OCTOBER 2, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Makes four tackles in win Marcal registered two off-target shots, four inaccurate crosses, four tackles (two won), two interceptions and a yellow card in Saturday's 2-0 win at Watford.
Impact Marcal had a good outing, posting the second-most tackles and crosses for his side. He also received his second yellow card in four games, though. The midfielder will now look to keep things rolling when they host Brentford on Saturday.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Logs 10 crosses in loss Marcal created one chance from 10 crosses (two accurate) and won three-of-four tackles during Sunday's 1-0 loss to Tottenham.
Impact Marcal goes both ways quite well and put up even better numbers in this loss than in the first game against Leicester City. Should he and his teammates continue their inability to finish chances but proficiency in creating them, Marcal is a worthy target early in the season as a wing-back. Up next is a visit from Manchester United.
AUGUST 22, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Provides five crosses in loss Marcal created one chance from five crosses (three accurate) during Saturday's 1-0 loss to Leicester City.
Impact Marcal only made 13 league appearances last season but is already off to a better start even in this loss. Should he continue to play this well, Marcal will have no problems holding off Rayan Air-Nouri for the starting spot on the left flank. Up next is a visit from Tottenham and former Wolves manager, Nuno Espirito Santo.
AUGUST 16, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Loses most of season to injury Marcal ended the season healthy, but he finished with just seven starts from 13 appearances.
Impact Marcal was set to be a big signing for Wolves from Lyon, but he battled injuries from the third match of the season on. He started when fit and available, but that wasn't often and if he can return to full health over the summer, he's expected to open next season as a starting defender.
JUNE 3, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Makes bench in loss Marcal (groin) stayed on the bench in Sunday's loss against Tottenham.
Impact Marcal was back in the squad Sunday, but given that he's played just 43 minutes since December, he wasn't ready to see the pitch. With younger players seeing more minutes of late, it's possible Marcal doesn't start again this season, though on a short week, he could be asked to make at least one XI in the final two matches.
MAY 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Returning to fitness Marcal (groin) has joined group training this week and is getting back his fitness, according to manager Nuno Espirito Santo. "He's been out with a long injury, but is now getting...
Impact Marcal has been out since February, so if he only returned to group training this week, it's likely he'll need a few more days before he's ready to start. With just three matches to go, there's a chance he may only be ready to start by the finale next week.
