Done at West Ham Balbuena is leaving West Ham at the end of the month following the completion of his contract.

Impact Balbuena stayed on the bench for the majority of the second half of last season and there's no reason for him to add another year to his West Ham contract. He served as more of a backup the last three seasons, totaling 49 starts, 23 of them coming in the 2018/19 campaign.

Ends season on bench Balbuena made 13 starts from 14 appearances during the 2020/21 season and ended the campaign with five straight games on the bench.

Impact Balbuena hasn't made more than 23 appearances in a league season since joining West Ham and this season saw him play more minutes than last year but make less total appearances. As long as Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson are around, Balbuena doesn't appear likely to hold much value as a role player.
