Chris Smalling - Returns off bench Smalling came off the bench for the final 12 minutes of Thursday's scoreless draw with Leverkusen.

Impact Smalling was sidelined for six matches with a thigh injury but finally made his return off the bench Thursday. The center-back was brought off the bench for the final 12 minutes to see out the clean sheet and did just that. When fully fit Smalling is a nailed-on starter, a role he could return to as soon as a Monday clash with Salernitana back in domestic action.

Stephan El Shaarawy - Remains on bench El Shaarawy (thigh) was an unused substitute during Thursday's scoreless Europa League draw with Leverkusen.
