Not playing for Sweden on Monday Stroud (illness) isn't in the Sweden squad for Monday's game against Romania in the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League.

Impact Stroud will miss a second straight game due to an illness. He's expected to be assessed by Hull City's medical staff in the coming days to determine whether he'll be an option for the Tigers' match against Everton on Sunday in the resumption of the Premier League campaign.

Dealing with illness Stroud is one of several Sweden players sidelined by an illness and won't be an option against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday, Phillip O'Connor of Reuters reports.

Impact Stroud is out of Tuesday's match and didn't even travel to Sarajevo for Friday's game, as he remains isolated with the other players also dealing with the illness, including Yasin Ayari and Benjamin Nygren. It remains to be seen whether Stroud will be available to face Romania on Oct. 5, and his availability for the Oct. 11 match against Everton in the resumption of the Premier League is also in question.

Impact Stroud remains the hardest sell of the Hull City attackers given how little he has been involved. The wide man has managed only three shots and one chance created across the opening four games, and his best return for accurate passes in any single match is seven, which says plenty about how rarely the ball reaches him. He was pulled off well before the end at Stamford Bridge for Sorba Thomas, and with his minutes failing to pass 63 in each of the last three outings, Thomas could start to press for that spot.

Limited before substitution Stroud had one shot (zero on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Saturday's 1-0 victory versus Coventry City. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 54th minute.

Impact Stroud attempted Hull's first shot of the match but sent his long-range effort wide, finishing his 59 minutes with one shot, one cross and one interception. He was replaced by Liam Millar, whose match-winning performance highlighted the competition Hull have in wide areas. Stroud's ability to work between midfield and attack should keep him involved, though he'll need to produce more consistently in the final third to secure regular minutes.

Signs with Hull City Stroud signed a four year contract with Hull City after departing Mjallby, the club announced.

Impact Stroud featured in all four of Sweden's matches at this summer's World Cup and made 109 appearances during a productive three and a half year spell at Mjallby, scoring 27 goals and adding 14 assists, including a pivotal role in the club's historic Allsvenskan title and Svenska Cupen triumph last season. Capable of playing full back or wide midfield, he brings a rare goal threat from the left flank as well as versatility across multiple positions. Stroud is expected to compete for a starting role at left back or as a wing back, bringing attacking upside to Hull's setup.
