Extends deal with Brentford Balcombe has signed a new three-year contract with Brentford through the summer of 2029, with a club option for a further year, the club announced.

Impact Balcombe has spent his entire career at Brentford since joining the academy at age eight, but has made just one senior appearance for the club, a 2023 Carabao Cup shoot-out win over Newport County in which he saved two penalties. He's spent much of his development out on loan, including spells at St Mirren and Motherwell last season, and remains behind the club's established first-choice options in the pecking order. Head coach Keith Andrews and director of football Phil Giles both praised his professionalism and role in driving standards within the goalkeeping department, and the extension gives him another multi-year window to push for a larger role in the squad.

Returning to Brentford Balcombe will return to Brentford after the conclusion of his loan spell at Motherwell, his parent club announced Friday.

Impact Balcombe was a regular for Motherwell during the 2024/25 season of the Scottish Premiership, although the results weren't exactly encouraging. He made 31 starts, conceding 53 goals and keeping only three clean sheets. He's not expected to compete for a first-team role at Brentford in 2025/26, and he's a candidate to leave the club -- either via loan or a permanent transfer -- in the summer.
