Benjamin Fredrick - Remains unused in cup win Fredrick was an unused substitute during Tuesday's EFL Cup win over Reading.
Impact Fredrick remains behind other defensive options for now despite being expected to be involved after building fitness levels prior to the midweek game. His short-term path to meaningful minutes is apparently limited for now while he competes for a spot as backup for Kristoffer Ajer and Michael Kayode. The seven-time Nigerian international has yet to make his Brentford debut after returning from an active loan spell at Belgian club FCV Dender.

Sepp Van den Berg - Should be fit in next month Van den Berg (groin) is targeting a return to action in October and could be potentially available to start in the next EFL Cup clash against Sunderland, per Uzzi Majid of The Rich...
Impact Van den Berg appears to be in the final stretch of his rehabilitation process despite having yet to appear in official play this season. The central man was one of the squad's busiest defenders in the previous campaign, averaging 6.1 clearances per contest, so he could be a strong contender for starts once he's cleared to play. Until then, Kristoffer Ajer and Jannik Schuster may continue to fill in in the absence of van den Berg and Nathan Collins (calf).

Mathias Jensen - Could be back in fourth cup round Jensen (strain) is expected to be available in late October when Brentford will face Sunderland in EFL Cup action, Uzzi Majid of The Richmond & Twickenham Times reports.
Impact Jensen will most likely stay out until after the international break but could avoid an extended absence beyond that. He'll aim to regain a starting spot as soon as he's fully recovered from the issue, having played as a central attacking midfielder in the opening game of the campaign. If he continues to fill that role in the future, Yehor Yarmolyuk and Mikkel Damsgaard could end up seeing their involvement reduced when Jensen is ready to play.

Fabio Carvalho - Scores in return to senior squad Carvalho scored a goal and logged 77 minutes in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Reading in the EFL Cup.
Impact The Bees used two first-half goals to dispatch Reading and advance to the next round of the EFL Cup, and Carvalho's goal was special, as it was his first-team debut in 2025/26. The creative winger has had an injury-filled stint with the London club over the last two seasons, but this goal will undoubtedly boost his confidence levels.
